I have been wearing the same underwear for the last MONTH!

I highly recommend the Under Armor boxer briefs. The compression ones are ok for more hardcore sports but the regular boxer briefs are more comfortable and more breathable.

If you don't put them in the dryer (they dry overnight hanging up) they last a longer. I have about 8 pairs and they are as good as they were 2 years ago when I bought them.

I think I paid about $22/each.

I think it is a great review. Chafing is a huge issue on a multi-day hike if you suffer from it. Nothing worse than getting up to do 15 miles and it feels like someone took 600 grit to your crotch. Anything that reduces it is worth a try! I've also used a product called Body Glide on long hikes or runs when it is humid, works great.

I'm going to have to check these out since my EMS boxer briefs (bought several years ago) are coming apart at the waistband and I need some replacements.

My inner thighs chafe as well so I also wear boxer briefs. The current EMS ones are too short and ride up leaving me with chafe city.

Thanks for testing these out. You should write to the company and see if they give you a free pair or have you beta test some of their clothing.

a pair of these underwear and some of this Anti Monkey Butt Powder and yer set for a wilderness foray!

I switched to the same brand for the same reasons about 4 years ago. I bring them along each year for my 2 week trek into the rockies. They wick moisture, are comfortable, and dry easily. Much better than cotton.

Lol.

So does the anti bacterial stuff wear away? If not, I'mma pick a pair up for dragon boating. The UA ones are cheaper though, and the sweat it outs are, too...

I have 3 pairs of these and they are worth their weight in gold! You guys had better not gotten blue because I'm not getting mine mixed up with anyone else's!

I had a huge chaffing problem while hiking in Hawaii with 90%+ humidity and 90+ degree weather. I know for a fact that if I had a pair of these when I went, it would have saved me agony through the rest of my trip. Never again going hiking without mine.

I'll second that. So far there is nothing that Under Armour makes that I have that isn't top notch. Can be a little on the expensive side but it is worth it in my experience. I have the compression underwear, cold gear long underwear, and a few fleece stocking caps in different colors. I'm thinking about ordering some of their gloves as well.

Thanks for the review. Although a bit odd, I've always felt socks and underwear were one of the most important things when it comes to outdoor clothing. I also have a problem with chaffing with these fat hams of mine, so I've tried a couple of different pairs of boxer briefs. The one thing that pisses me off, is that every boxer brief I've tried is missing a pecker hole (barn door, etc.)

So, my one question. Do these have a pecker hole?!

P.S. Am I allowed to say that? Mods feel free to fix this post if you deem it inappropriate, but I swear it is a legitimate question/concern.

Is anyone else thinking, "Nuclear Skid Mark"?

I'll have to try these, when I do wear underwear when camping, I've been known to not change for a while.

We went 12 days without one change of clothes during the keys trip. Funky fresh for yah. I can't wait to try these out, thanks tal.

Damn right:thumbup: And unhygenic anti-social behaviour is a lot more common than you might want to think, even in office environments:grumpy:

The OP has a useful and sensible post here, hiking or being out in the woods you need to keep clean and practical.

I saw a study once that said men are much more likely to wash their hands when there is another man in the men's room but that if they are alone they are much more prone to just skip it and walk out. I forget the numbers but it was alarming. Mac

The underpants in question DO have a barn door! ;)

I have been wearing this pair now for another month. I simply rinse them off in the shower at night (perhaps use a dab of soap) and then hang them to dry in my bathroom.

They are sometimes damp in the morning (they are not with air flow) but they dry super quick.

They smell just fine and are not funky. They do not stretch over the day and if they get wet - they dry quickly (I waded in the water with hiking shorts on to test that).

They do not protect from shrinkage however in cold water.

I'm a mailman and walk all day, every day, at work. I tried polypro boxer briefs about ten years ago and have worn nothing else since. The price may be high compared to the traditional cotton tighty-whities, but the comfort and durability more than make up for the difference.

I probably have three or four different brands of them in my underwear drawer and would have a hard time picking a favorite... I don't think I've tried a brand that wasn't excellent.

Stay sharp,
desmobob
