I have been wearing the same underwear for the last MONTH!

Their boxers were the only ones I took to Europe for 3.5 weeks. Good stuff. Now mine are mixed somewhere in laundry land, never to be seen again.

I can't believe I missed this review before, since I am a HUGE fan of the boxer versions of these. I'm just glad there were no accompanying pictures or videos. :barf:

I worked (and I guess I technically still do with my site) in outdoor retail for a while, so I would get stuff at or below cost. I bought one of just about every "outdoor" underwear on the market including stuff from Patagonia, Marmot, REI, Target (Champion?), Icebreaker, Smartwool, Under Armour, and many others. The Ex Officio boxers are by far the best ones I have ever worn, from comfort, durability, longevity, quality, and many other perspectives. I wish I could afford wearing them everyday, but I only have a couple pairs. I do highly recommend picking up a pair or two for wilderness or travel trips. I know they say you can wear one pair for a month, but I tend to find myself in situations where I might want to have underwear on while the other ones are drying. :D

Yeah, under armour ones do not have a barn door. I guess that is a personal preference thing. I will have to check out these drawers. For only three dollars more than the UA ones, its worth a shot.

Storl,

That is what I have done now. I own two pair - one gets worn while the other dries. I have dozens of pairs of Hanes - but I don't like them anymore!

I highly recommend the Under Armor boxer briefs. The compression ones are ok for more hardcore sports but the regular boxer briefs are more comfortable and more breathable.

If you don't put them in the dryer (they dry overnight hanging up) they last a longer. I have about 8 pairs and they are as good as they were 2 years ago when I bought them.

I think I paid about $22/each.

I invested in three pairs of these a little more a year ago, and they're worth every penny. I have the regular boxer-briefs, and those do have a fly opening.

After switching my outerwear to wicking/fast drying material, my cotton undies were the noticeable weak link.

The difference that "high performance" underwear makes is such a massive improvement over cotton...I only wish that I had started wearing them earlier. UA boxerbriefs and REI Saharah-Tech T-shirts have probably done more to improve my physical comfort when outdoors than any piece of gear that I've tried in the last 5 years.

I saw a study once that said men are much more likely to wash their hands when there is another man in the men's room but that if they are alone they are much more prone to just skip it and walk out. I forget the numbers but it was alarming. Mac

Could be, but according to my girl-friend, women are also very lazy about this kind of thing too:barf:

The OP has however, given us a very practical&useful product to consider and I'd like to get some of these:staying clean=staying healthy=staying alive.

A new Navy recruit and a new Marine Corps recruit were at a restaurant on a double-date with two very pretty sisters. The two men excused themselves at the same time to use the men's room. The sailor returned to the table a minute ahead of the marine.

One of the girls commented on it. The marine said,
"Well... in the Marine Corps, we were taught to wash our hands after taking a leak."

The sailor said,
"In the Navy, they taught us not to piss on our hands...."

Yuk, yuk, yuk.

One more thing regarding bathroom hand-washing.... http://media2.foxnews.com/112008/worm_tumor_700.wmv Wash your hands!

Anyway, based on the strong recommendations in this thread, I'll be ordering a couple of pairs of Ex Officio boxer briefs to add to my drawer of drawers.

Stay sharp,
desmobob

um....actually that joke goes the other way round;)

as for the guys who have UA boxer briefs with no opening in the front, I have no idea what you have, but every pair of UA boxerbrief I have has a barn door, http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0040236980232a&navCount=1&podId=0040236980232&parentId=cat601724&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21082-cat601724&catalogCode=IK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601724&hasJS=true
I have 4 pair of these, all with barn door

and the Boxer briefs in question are very, very comfortable

Actually this was a good idea, it's always the most basic or simple that we overlook when it comes to planning. Stuff like extra boot laces or proper undergarments or socks can be crucial when you need them.

okay this is a good thread but needed a diff name i have avoided it just cause of the name . senece i started hanging out here water shed is tops on my list for clothing, to the point i only buy 100% polyester thremals and 100% wool sweters for outdoors. had not thought of the undies:cool:

Be advised that the ExOfficio Boxer Briefs are currently on sale at Duluth Trading for $16.50 each. Most everywhere else they are $25.00.

You should have bought some for her too.

I also bought a few pair, can't pass up a good deal. . . although the shipping is pretty steep for a small light package.
