I just walked in the from the shop after checking it out for size. I will also have to change to a different blade handle styled knife. I'm going to put it on a little utility knife. I'm making two of them actually, one stock removal and one forged. Basically I made a stock removal pattern for a little around the house/kitchen utility type. I cut two blanks out. I styled the blank so that it would be a preform for a skinning knife. Just a little experiment with forge preforms I'm playing with. I'll finish the stock removal out first since it's farther along. I'll handle them both with this micarta.

I got mine a few days ago. The width made me choose a smaller knife design also. I just got it evened up and in a workable format. The particular piece I got (light blue paper) has as lot of voids throughout and is gonna be tricky to use but I have a game plan. A little cyan toner mixed with epoxy should fill those holes and blend with the light blue of the paper in the piece. I'm gonna try it on a small piece and see first, but that's the plan for now.

As far as opinions on the material: Probably needs a little more pressure to squeeze out the bubbles and force the pockets to close next time around. Also a little wider would be good. Otherwise, pretty good stuff!

More after I get bolsters & scales placed, pinned and cleaned up.
