I heard a rumor that owner Josh Burbank of PVK died a couple days ago. Can anyone confirm this? As I understand it, he was under an enormous amount of stress these last couple of months from a massive credit card scam that cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars. Apparently, goons from Russia ordered tons of expensive knives with hacked credit cards. This sent his business into a spiral. As he navigated the sales, legitimate customers became angry with new delays and security measures and criticized him ruthlessly online. This was my observation at least. I’ve felt so bad for him lately and now he possibly has succumbed from the stress of it all. My heart goes out to his family if this is true. Hopefully it’s not.

Wow, my condolences and deepest sympathies to his family and friends. This is really @ucked up. I really like that dude despite some people talking shit here and there. Okay, I was feeling bummed out before, but now I'm a tad crushed. 🥺
 
Can I get some details as well? Josh and I were pretty cool for a long while. Thanks if you can.
 
With respect, I looked up several Las Vegas newspapers, only 1 of them even had obituary listings, and there was no listing for a Josh Burbank or Joshua Burbank. Did he even live in Las Vegas, or did he just have the store there and live elsewhere?

(The newspaper that has obituary listings is the Las Vegas Review-Journal)

Given that Mr. Burbank was a controversial figure in the knife community, and was acquainted with several celebrities, as well as had at least 2 articles written about him and PVK in recent times (just type Josh Burbank PVK into your favorite search engine), I find it odd I haven't been able to find an obituary. I even tried using the search terms "Josh Burbank obituary" and "Joshua Burbank obituary" (without the quotes).
 
Why all the secretive profile posts? If the man passed on, just tell everyone instead of posting messages on everyone’s profile. When people Google the company it’s going to bring them here anyway, so you’re not bypassing search engines in any meaningful way.

Edited to add: It isn’t popping up in search engines but still, why not just share the news?
 
Never met the man (that I recall), but he was around during the early pre-bladeforums days, and usenet. Some of his online battles and pissing matches with Mike Turber and others were legendary. He could be a polarizing figure.

I have a couple of his knife bags, (still in use), from back then.

If the rumors and what's been reported here are true...R.I.P. Josh and thanks for the memories.

Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. There's nothing he said that couldn't have been posted in the thread.

To all: So far, still no word about where to find an obituary to totally confirm Mr. Burbank's passing, as of this post. If someone has any info on where to find it, I think most here would like to know. If Mr. Burbank did pass, then may he rest in peace. And condolences to his family & friends.

I never met him, or ever communicated with him, and despite whatever problems people had with him (or vise versa), he was still a member of this community. It should be a simple matter to confirm his passing, if he did in fact.

More steps though, just trying to have respect, what I was told was family and business are being squared away before they publicize it. Not sure the circumstances, hearing a few things, no idea if op was correct on what happened.
