Not gonna lie. I laughed at this. You might be on to something here Danke42...Whenever there's someone on the phone the boss doesn't want to talk to he just says "tell them I"m dead".
Maybe instead of people calling and saying “hey did he die!?” someone could think outside the box and say “hello I need to talk to Josh, can you put him on the phone?”Not gonna lie. I laughed at this. You might be on to something here Danke42...
That being said, somebody, somewhere is screwing with us. I think the simplest thing is to keep looking for an obituary to show up. (or not)
Alternatively, is there anyone here who lives in Vegas, or who might be travelling there who can stop by PVK & find out what the hell is going on?
No and frankly I regret starting this thread at the thought that PVK may have some desire to keep it secret. I held onto the information for (I think) 2 days before inquiring here. In those 2 days, I checked their FB account and their website repeatedly. Also checked Josh's personal FB profile. I've ordered multiple times from PVK but the personal connection I had was messaging Josh about the hell he was suffering over the fraudulent credit card scam. For those of you that dont know, he tried to keep it private and deal with it on his own but it all blew up in his face. I think he said it was in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. I also think I remember him saying that because it came from overseas, there was nothing that could be done about it. He would suffer the loss. As a small business owner myself, I thought about him often. Can you imagine trying to just accept the thievery and deal with it, only to have it hurt your reputation all the more? I wonder if the secrecy is related to an investigation into that matter? Would prefer he is alive and well tho. GB him and his family.
No different than watching MSNBC or CNN.Wow, this has to be one of the oddest threads I've seen in a while.....

So edgey..No different than watching MSNBC or CNN.
The only fact thus far.So edgey..
What kind of person calls a business to ask if the owner‘s dead?
What kind of person wants to publicize to the world someone’s death?
There are a host of reasons to keep things private when someone dies, not have an obit and not to call a small firm to see if a tragic internet rumour is true.
You're describing the average person, brownshoe. What kind of person wants to publicize to the world someone’s death?
I've noticed that obituaries are less of a cultural norm than they were, back in the day of local, daily printed newspapers. And how many people have actually called the store to try and verify? This seems just too weird. I doubt he's dead without an obituary anywhere to be found. Just sayin'![]()
Where I come from, you let the family decide whether or not the death is announced or if there is an obit. People die from a lot of things they don't want publicized, suicide, drunk driving, shot to death by a jealous husband, or they just can't handle "sorry for your loss" platitudes. Howsa 'bout, the owner of a family mail order business dies before Xmas thus the family might not have wanted it publicized until they work things out. You're describing the average person, brownshoe.
It's considered a courtesy to pass the information on to the world at large such that friends, family, work associates (etc.) can mourn the loss of someone important to them.
Sometimes the details of the passing are withheld, usually out of respect for the deceased, but the fact that someone died is worth knowing.
