Howdy yall and cheers for a missing comrade,

Somehow or another during the afternoon ranch work I lost my Sebenza today. I'm sure the clip just caught on a bale of hay or sack of feed and sprung (I've had to fix it once or twice for this before) but it's gone. I spent a couple of hours trying to find it to no avail, and I'll give it another go tomorrow- hopefully with more luck. I know lots of folks have different theories on gear, but I carry one knife- the same every day for every use, and my comrade for several months is missing. It has never been outside of an arms reach since the moment it arrived until now. Wish me luck finding it tomorrow, cheers to its service so far, and may none of my brethren here suffer the same fate.

Sorry to hear this my man, one of my biggest fears is losing a knife. Hope you have some luck tomorrow.

Get a metal detector,I found a wedding ring in a cow pastor before, just try to replace your steps, and good luck,I've had my sebby by my side for over 5 yrs now.

I'm going to look tomorrow and if I can't find it try and borrow a metal detector. It's not that big of a space- 25 acres or so and I know most of my paths today. I'm not super confident but I'd be happy with 50/50 now. Thanks for the support all around and cheers- since its too dark to search I opted for wine.

Hope you find it with a fresh pair of eyes tomorrow bro! Sucks having that feeling in your gut about losing a knife. Lost a all stainless spyderco delica that my father gave me(sentimental value) 3 years ago......

Keep us updated!!'

My heart goes out to you, had mine about 3 months now, thought I lost it once, did lose it once and a friend found it, now it never gets fast from sight and I compulsively check for it a couple of hundred times a day.

Hope ya find it.

I keep my 21 in a leather sheath, in my pocket. So far, so good. Haven't lost it or any screws, either (which are Loc-tited, too). Sympathies....

Thats the reason I stopped carrying mine I lost it, luckily I found it 20 min later but I stopped carrying it after that.

goodluck in your search. i am seriously sad for you but i'm rooting for you to find it tomorrow!

I hope you find it.
A knife used in the field should put a brightly colored lanyard.
Regards and good luck.

That's pretty grim. Heres hoping it shows up tomorrow or at least sometime soon.

I second the metal detector... if you can't borrow one, it would be worth it to buy a cheap one - you're just looking on the surface, so any quality detector will do the trick. Best of luck!!! I feel for you bro!!!

I'm sorry to hear this. Good luck! I'm going to go the positive route and say...WHEN (not if) you find it, please buy a bealt sheath. :)

I would also suggest looking at night with a big arse LED flashlight. This may sound counter intuitive but it has worked for me looking for shell casings at crime scenes. Reflective surfaces will absolutely glow when you are standing over them shining 200 lumens down on them. A lot of times during the day they will blend into the shadows of the grass and such. This is another reason I like lanyards on my gear, it makes it easier to find when dropped.
