I lost my Sebenza today

Look, friend, I have an extra new BLEM Kershaw JunkYardDog 2.2 just sitting here with your name on it. I bought three of them from Kershaw Dave six months ago or so. I kept one; I gave one to a good friend up in Indiana and I have one with your name on it. This is a great knife; it has a composite blade of CPM D2 blade-steel and cuts really great. I keep it for my rough-work outside. It's a great manual folder/flipper and you'd love it. I just passed 2,000 posts and have been wondering how to celebrate.
I hope you find your Sebbie, but email or PM to me your name and address and a former Texan (me) will get it off to you via USPS Priority flat rate box tomorrow.

That is amazing! This is why this forum is so amazing:thumbup:

Howdy yall and cheers for a missing comrade,

Somehow or another during the afternoon ranch work I lost my Sebenza today. I'm sure the clip just caught on a bale of hay or sack of feed and sprung (I've had to fix it once or twice for this before) but it's gone. I spent a couple of hours trying to find it to no avail, and I'll give it another go tomorrow- hopefully with more luck. I know lots of folks have different theories on gear, but I carry one knife- the same every day for every use, and my comrade for several months is missing. It has never been outside of an arms reach since the moment it arrived until now. Wish me luck finding it tomorrow, cheers to its service so far, and may none of my brethren here suffer the same fate.

Where do you live?
Finders keepers :P

j/k... You'll find it bud. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week. At least you have a solid idea where it is.

 awesome of you sonny.

Thanks so much for all the well wishing and helpful ideas yall! And Sonny that is an incredibly generous offer! I actually took out my JYD today that I have stashed as my backup in my jeep, but most of all I'm incredibly happy to report I found my Sebenza! It was cold and raining, but I decided to take out all of my rain gear and upon the suggestion of some clever folks here took out my spotlight. Less than an hour later of retracing all of my travels on foot I saw a beautiful metallic sheen that could only be my Sebenza calling to me! It was very wet and had a decent amount of mud and grass on it, but a quick cleaning and oiling later it was as good as ever! Thanks so so much for the tips and well wishes- they kept my spirits up and provided the tip that helped me find my comrade!

Well, sir, I am truly happy for you. But now I STILL have the same problem...
Does anyone really need this JunkYardDog? If you know someone that's kind of broke or could use this knife for nothing, let me know. But post here that you're writing me, so that I don't get 100 emails or PM's. Thanks. It needs to go to someone that can use it.
Sonny

Hey, guys, nobody wants to post, and that was probably unfair of me. Just PM or email me, and I'll take the first name and address that I get. Or someone in the military... And I will answer your note right away, so you know whether to expect it or not. I won't publish your name in any way. I trust your honesty.
Thanks. Not trying to put anyone on the spot. Trying to do a good deed. I'm an old Boy Scout.

NJ, glad you found your Sebenza. That is great news.

Sonny, very cool of you to offer to help someone out. Gestures like that are what make this forum special.

Thanks for reminding me why I decided long ago never to carry a knife clipped to my person. I sincerely hope you find your Sebenza soon.

10 years ago you'd find 1 clipped rf, 1 clipped lf, 1 clipped rr, 1 clipped lr, 1 clipped in my shirt or jacket pocket plus bottom of the pocket dwellers.

Now a days it's rare that I clip anything to my pants pockets, even if it has a clip it rides in three bottom.

I made a leather pocket sheath for my small 21...

....if I need something quick I got my Bud Nealy Aikuchi FB on a static chain attached to my belt and the sheath tucked into my back pocket, grab the handle and yank, the sheath stays attached and falls away, the knife is in hand and ready to use.

I don't feel need for speed when accessing my folders these days that's why I have a FB.

Good folks here on BF! Cheers Sonny! And glad to hear you found your sebbie. A story like that is a drama for dudes!

You've probably come as close as anyone ever has to literally finding a needle in a haystack. :)

Congrats.

I now have 2 new projects! Trying to find a way to make the pocket clip a little more reliable (this is sort of a deal breaker- if I can't keep it reliably clipped I may have to trade off the Sebenza) and getting some paracord for a lanyard in a color other than grey. It turns out a grey knife, with grey paracord, and a grey bead are not easy to spot.

njhart glad to hear you found your knife. Someone needs to come up with a tracking device you put in place of the lanyard hole!

Some kinda rfi transmitter, somethin' like they use to ID lost dogs or the kind they use in the easy pass, all ya would hafta do is turn on the receiver and start walkin' in the general direction ya list the knife in.

sounds like a million dollar idea to me!

Once was lost...but now found. Great news!

Kudos to Sonny for looking out for a brother.
