Do you take the knife off to use it? Or can you pull it out far enough to cut while still attached?

Which raises the next question. Is the spring strong enough to reel the knife in if you let go of it? Reason I ask is that you could presumably use the Key-Bak as a SUBSTITUTE for a clip if the spring isn't so strong that it pulls the knife out of your pocket. The obvious advantages of using this approach would be to prevent loss and improve discrete carry.I leave it attached. You just have to get used to the little bit of resistence you feel from the spring in the reel.

NJHART - PM me your address and I will send you some nice Neon Orange Paracord with Reflective Tracers in it I just bought that you can use for a lanyard. If you drop the knife again the cord with the reflective tracers GLOWS bright. I will mail it out to you ASAP.
