No one is ever going to win the argument that customs are meant mostly for the safe, and steak knives (cultellus) and CG's are meant for beating...

Holy Moly !!! Am I missing something.. What got taken out of hand??? Who is never going to win??

Yes, we all know Busse has The best warranty..

Oh, I see..

Still, what is the intended use for the SFNO that is in question???

That is always a major deciding factor when I buy knives..

Its a midsized knife, good for backpacking, light chopping, still a good slicer, and makes one hell of a knife.

HUH?? I always win arguments. This thread has not triggered me to even form a legit complaint because there is nothing to complain about. I just had a few questions... Gerbers answer so far makes the most sense..I don't know if I would take that thing backpacking though. I usually like to put the hiking/camping blades through some mild-medium use.

If I was the one posting this thread it would of be a different story due to some comments posted by a few. :)

Yea man, that really sucks... I am honestly disappointed in this. I will NEVER buy one of these custom SFNOs no matter how tempted I am. As for future custom ganzaas, well I will approach them with caution. Even the freeking handle fell apart. WTF??

It's definitely time to drink. :D

Thats why I said, "IMO" :) I dont use customs hard, matter of fact I only use one custom and thats my Culti for cleaning fish and as a steak knife.

As far as the customs seeming more soft, I dulled the tip on my Culti after hitting the side of a glass plate, maybe its just because it is really thin but my BAD still has a tip and I have used it as a steak knife several times as well, and its even thinner.

It's been heat treated to a higher RC than the Culti's. Should resist dulling more, but looses a little plasticity in the tradeoff.

True, but the BAD would probably "snap" easier than other Busses. Its not an abused knife, so chances are I will not break it.

LMAO ... I still see no complaint. Just a mixture of surprise and disappointment. If I was the one to buy this thing and did not get a full refund then there would be a complaint...

I am happy this thread was made.. :)

Hence the words... "looses a little plasticity in the tradeoff." :D

Whaaaat man ?? INFI has plastic in it?.. In that case I would of figured the blade would bend on a 70 degree angle b4 failure :p:D
Rubbermaid makes some killer plastic products maybe Busse can team up with them..

Guyon,

Since you are in this thread I wanted to ask… have you ever heard of a case where Tourette’s syndrome was manifested through a keyboard.

I play softball with a psychology professor. I'll see what he thinks. Maybe drugs could curb it?

Smart a$$. :p :D

What kind of word is plasticity?? Those big words confuse me, I prefer malleable. :D

LMAO Jarvis, Jerry already made a plastic knife. :D

Yea, the Stealth Hawk is interesting. Maybe that should be the next offering instead of a malleable SFNO ... :D:D

Hey what is the ductility of a Stealth Hawk? That would be my next question..

So 9 letter words you're good with, but 10 letter words confuse you??? Hmmm...

Plasticity:
1: the quality or state of being plastic ; especially : capacity for being molded or altered
2: the ability to retain a shape attained by pressure deformation

Malleable:
1: capable of being extended or shaped by beating with a hammer or by the pressure of rollers
2a: capable of being altered or controlled by outside forces or influences, b: having a capacity for adaptive change

I prefer plasticity. :D

Well, I prefer Malleable... This calls for an argument :p:p

It was just a joke. :) Take it easy man, you are being too malleable. :D
