I am not very proud of this, because what I was doing was so stupid, but I figured I'd share. I was camping with my family and I was batoning some wood with my bk9 and everything was going fine, and then on the last piece I for some stupid reason held my hand in the wrong spot and batoned my finger instead.

We were in the town that my mom grew up in so you can hear her talking about my uncle a little, and my awful annoying voice, but here is a video from the emergency room. It was nice, the town was small so there was no wait time because there was no one there, the doctor and the nurse were really great too. I was in my bathing suit which was really embarrassing, but they gave me a nice warm blanket, and let me watch and record what was going on :D

Video does not work, you need to post a link or set the video to (SHARE)

Thats gonna be alittle sore for a while......

You better watch it buddy! I can still use my 9 with my right hand!

ouch, you took it like a champ though.

haha yeah, it was weird, I didn't even get an adrenaline rush this time. I was just like "oh dear, not again." and I walked over to my car to get the first aid kit. thats when I realized that the wound was really... flappy.... and probably needed to be sewed up.

LOL ... That's a girl, living up to your sig line.

Serious - just giving you $hit. Hope you're ok.

Pics of the bathing suit, please. :D

Naw, I'm glad you're OK, be careful out there. Its real easy to go from 10 Finger Cap'n to Cap'n Hook.

Take your time, and thanks for sharing. You're voice isn't annoying by the way.

It could have been worse. Now you know how to stitch up yourself next time. LOL.

actually, that is exactly what I was thinking, I got a couple disposable stitching kits from my aunt, so next time I don't have to go in. well, hopefully there won't be a next time, cause stitching without numbing stuff wouldn't be pleasant. possible, just... painful.

Here's what's REALLY twisted ... We bring our cameras in the ER when we get stiches.

The Sheeple would never understand ... wonder what the ER tech's think ? Not the norm eh ? TOOO FUNNY

Right on! I like your style. My gf would've screamed like a banshee.

Yeah, real painful. Trust me on that.

When I broke my hand last year, they were freaking out at the ER because I didn't want any pain meds. Unlike your hospital, you will spend 4-5 hrs getting patched up around here, so I just sat in my room, watching TV with my hand all mangled, swollen, and ugly. One of the lady nurses came in and said "you sure you don't want anything for the pain?"

I told her it was starting to give me a headache, could she bring me some excedrin. She just stared at me like I had another head or something.

I'm not a tough guy, I just have a high tolerance for pain, I guess. I did stitch myself up a couple of times, and ta hell with that.

I'm glad your OK Cap'n, be careful out there. You should have showed them the knife you were using. :D

haha my mother was disturbed that I was concerned on whether or not we had the camera with us when she was driving me to the ER.

Well you're manlier than me, it hurt like a bad word, thats for sho. I don't really cry or freak out, that's a waste of energy. If offered drugs however, yes please :P

I tried explaining what knife I was using but the nurse was really confused on why I kept saying knife, but also saying I was chopping wood. eventually I just said I was carving some wood with a hunting knife, because she didn't know what batoning a log with a bk9 meant, haha.
