I managed to cut myself again, this time with my bk9. (warning grossish pics)

Ouch!!! May I ask how one batons their own hand ? When I baton wood I have one hand on the knife handle , and the other one on the thing I'm beating the log with !!!

Well, cause I'm an idiot thats why. I was really tired from swimming and shouldn't have touched anything sharp to begin with. I was doing it properly like softrock said, but then... for some reason I thought it'd be a good idea to swing my knife while holding the wood.... Please don't try that at home.
 
Did the same thing with a Cold Steel 12" Bowie Machete last year. Taught me not to hold the wood and "bury" it to start...just place the edge where it goes....I didn't get stitches though, never do. Still a little numb in that finger. Not as scary as my Mora bite, but it could have been worse.

Oh sweet jesus. You are one lucky lady. If you do that again, I promise, I will have someone come over and TAKE your BKT's away.

You really, really, really could have cause some seriouse damage to yourself.

I'm very glad you didn't lose something you need, please, please, please, don't do that again. That's begging right there, in case you didn't notice.

I promise I won't do it again. I was stressed from camping with the family, and tired. I feel so stupid :( Like I said, I shouldn't have touched my knifes.... /sadface

I play with knifes a lot, so I guess there is a small percentage of the time where I'm wearing a bathing suit.

Wow chica, that's a pretty good souvenir you gave yourself there! I know construction workers that would be bawlin after that. Alas, neither of my index fingers are quite the same as they were when I was a kid, one with a hatchet, in a similar manner to yours, one with a meat slicer... But scars teach us an important lesson...DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!

Glad to see you're alright, now mend up, and go punish that 9 by chopping something down.
 
Just glad you're ok. That could have been real ugly.

Yup definitely lucky! I understand about explaining batoning, kinda like explaining the draw knife thing. I cut myself with a 7 at work last night. No stitches just superglue. Keep a keen eye on the sharp end, she'll bite ya!

Is Airyca old enough for you guys to be talking about her bathing suit? I won't make any bathing suit and girls with knives comments unless I know I am not sounding like a pedophile. :)

I wish I would have taken video of my ER visit instead of just pics. You are smarter than I. By the way, Airyca and I are now best friends. (Sorry CA) We have both had a finger stitched up this month. The rest of you sissies need to get some knife wielding going on. Stitches are the only proof you have used a knife. ha ha ha

Take care of those stitches and that finger miss CA. You don't want to end up with bear paws like me. Your voice is tiny and cute. The opposite of mine. I guess we need someone with a mid range voice to complete the Triumvirate of Stitches.
