I need a kick ass strider knife

And one more thing...if maturity of this guy's question is, well, in question...why post in such immature responses? Sure, lets keep with the sophomoric jokes and potentially turn a kid off to a well appreciated hobby.

Sorry REAPER, I dont have an answer for you. I'm not big into Striders yet.

Too bad for you ED...I cant say I wasn't open to the possibilities. There is more than one life???:)

Shut up Vivi. I dont give a crap if you approve of my actions or not. ;)

JUST becuase We make fun of him doesn't mean that we wont help him. All he has to do Is pony up $400 and POOF the Evil uber-tactical death dealing Strider will be in his hands. ;)

*EDIT*

BTW, IF I were this kid, Id look at BOKER or SOG first. Something he may actualy be able to afford after a few weeks of saving. The SOG Pentagon and the Boker Applegate-Fairbrane are prety "wicked" looking, and well built knives that someone with a part time job can actualy afford to buy. They have some good utility AND defencive uses also.

I agree with some of the member sthat the tone and reaction to this thread is out of line. Sure, he probably is a kid, and he's probably done minimal research and knows very little at this point, but I was the same way once. I had that love for knives, but no knowledge, and I wanted cool looking knives. At least entertain the guy/kid, and encourage him to become more educated instead of chastizing him away.

Nothing fits the bill more than this particular Strider, but understand that it is a very high end knife, and is priced at $750.

You can find it here:

Isn't this the case in any walk of life?

Well, the saying two wrongs don't make a right applies.

Maybe you think his attitude is immature or maybe he is young. If either is the case, demeaning responses are not called for. If he's young, then pointing him towards a knife that'd fit his desires and be more affordable would be more helpful. If you feel his attitude is immature, maybe inform him that if he plans on using a knife he's purchasing, there are more practical knives at a lower cost.

get a strider AR or GB, the are plenty "bad" looking and ya can get tiger stripes too.

That is the ugliest most impractical looking god damn knife I've ever seen. I wouldnt give 7 bucks, much less $750.

Allright, i admit i'm not an educationalist but the way this kind of young and/or immature boy comes in the knife hobby scares me. The fact i've been a bit rude doesn't mean i didn't want to be helpful. I just did it this old way i'm used to. I try again.

Reaper,

I'm happy you have some interest for knives but you have to understand this: there are many uses for a knife, there are many knives. For a well known reason (this world is dangerous...) you choose to come in the knife hobby by its most extrem side: the "wicked look" which will impress yours "ennemies". The best way for an inexperienced young guy to be killed or to go in jail. If you really want to be one of those guys who can use a knife for self defense (i don't have to judge that) you have many things to learn before. You will discover those things by yourself, that's what may be called experience.

To keep a good luck, be careful.

dantzk.

REAPER if you are looking for a Strider e-mail me with what you are looking for and I will help bring you up to speed. Hey fellow BFC'ers, I hate Mall-Ninja Trekies with trench coats and multiple peircings as much as the next guy, but give this kid a little break until you are sure he is here with other motives. This is a public forum and a few of you guys are funny, but slightly out of line. This isn't a troll hole, or "The Cove". Be carfull, you may find yourselves in the same type of predicament someday. A few of us can show no mercy here and none of you would like that. Lets give the kid a chance and if he proves otherwise I will be one of the first to help rid the fool. You all may have already turned him away though.

I've been looking at several upscale knife brands myself, including Strider. I didn't really care for the Buck Striders I've owned, but I did enjoy using the Strider PT in a Passaround, and plan on buying a PT before the year is out, and a regular SMF, SNG and SMF fixed.

On a more serious note here guys, the Strider Tiger is NOT a fantasy knife. It was designed with one specific purpose and mission in mind. If you can figure it out great but if you can't don't worry ,it just wasn't designed for your average Joe on the streets

Oooh, sounds so mysterious!

Yeah, it was adapted for a video game from someone's custom Strider. The game is called "Extermination" or something, on PS2.
So it is, technically a fantasy knife.

The last time someone came on here saying the same line about a specific mission and purpose- they were saying it was designed to stab in and hook around the spine and sever it. A mall ninjas idea of "Sentry deanimation." :jerkit:

It is basically a novelty item, based on one customers idea for a fighting knife.

I rather like the idea of a company realizing a video game knife, but for what Strider is charging, my enthusiasm is squashed. I found a picture of the game in question, courtesy of Gamespot.com :

I was under the impression that the Tiger was kind of a modified Kuhkri (Spelling?). I think it would look cool on the mantle, but god what a strange design. Definately not an EDC design.

One of the worst misses I've had on this forum is the chance to get a Strider PT from USAFSP. I've gotten rid of most of the knives I've purchased since then, and still want a PT. USAFSP is the man, he'll take care of you.

That's great, especially since you probably have no idea about it's intended purpose or use. There are a lot of poeple out there that would and do. So far, the only thing you've done is make yourself look ignorant.

Oh, and your favorite knife listed in your profile really says a lot about you and your knowledge of knives.

Can you tell us what it's for or would you have to kill us if we knew?:)
