I need a kick ass strider knife

BH said:
That's great, especially since you probably have no idea about it's intended purpose or use. There are a lot of poeple out there that would and do. So far, the only thing you've done is make yourself look ignorant.

Oh, and your favorite knife listed in your profile really says a lot about you and your knowledge of knives.

Another raving Mall ninja reiterating the tired old line of "you have no idea about its intended purpose or use. . . Blah blah blah

Talk about ignorant.

And then with a totally slick profile-reading attempt at an insult:jerkit:

I swear, when you sign on to be a Striderite do you have to check your brain at the door? This is not a dig on the company or the products, but a simple observation of the mindless behavior regularly displayed by the fan club.:barf:

Did you read Rat Finkenstein's post?

Maybe one of you guys can enlighten us as to what the purpose of the design is...that is, unless Rat is right and it was made to look cool for a video game.
Or maybe you'd have to deanimate us if you told us because it's a secret Agency project and the pics were accidently published on the 'net? :D

Edit: just saw that OilMan asked the same question while I was typing. :D

Concerning profile reading: someone who knows the secret behind this design and lists his occupation as "Sales" probably does that to hide his true profession, that of a low drag high speed operator. ;)

You know, back when the first pictures of SouthNarc's Spyderco Pikal folder were posted all over the various knife discussion boards, I told people who scoffed at it simply because they didn't know what it was designed for that they shouldn't pass judgment before educating themselves on its intended purpose. However, I (as well as others) did provide information on the concept behind it.

Was that a shot on Swamp Rat?

BTW, I will be using my PT for EDC when I get it, and will using my SMF and SNG as tools when I get them. I might deanimate the box my SMF comes in!

Naa

He was trying to rip on nozh_scrap for having a Cold Steel knife in his profile.:jerkit:

Strange that there are two threads going at the same time about this knife.

Of course they would have already died if it wasn't for a handful of uberninjas hinting at the terrible secrets only they know :D

BTW, the fact that the knife was adapted for a video game based on a custom piece someone had ordered, came from Mick Strider himself.

So, someone orders a custom knife. (just happens to be a fantasy fighting knife) Game developers want a strider? who knows- mick supplies them with the design. Thus the production version of the knife should be considered memorabilia from the video game.

Somewhere along the line, some idiot started saying "it has a special purpose and mission, if you can't figure it out. . . Blah blah blah" and in the last couple days several people have delivered that line (of course without actually revealing this special purpose only highspeed operators would know):D

Ah yes, now I remember why I joined the USN, intellegent conversation amongst adults. You can cancel my membership here to the junior knife forum for adolesent idiots that don't know shit but think they do....:jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit:

Buh-bye!

I buy knives to use as tools. I'm a civvie, and the few "operators" I know tell me that the best way to "deanimate" someone is through a scope.

More garbage that perpetuates the stereotypical dangerous knife agenda. In 25 years I bet I'll have to get a permit to buy a folder because of posts like these.:jerkit:

As opposed to "intelligent conversation amongst adults"?

Seriously, you still haven't told us what the purpose of that knife is. Now it sounds that you'll leave without sharing your secret knowledge of this piece. Bummer.

Mick probably chuckles at those who, instead of choosing one of the many practical designs he offers, go for a video game prop and think it was designed as a highly specialized tactical tool.

But regardless of what it was designed to do, I have to say one thing:

"Dude! That's one awesome knife bro!!!!!11!!!1!1 :) :) :) :) :)"

Buh-bye!

I envision rivulets of black Goth eye shadow mixed with salty tears running down your cheeks, dripping on your distended gut and camouflage ninja suit.

Nice temper tantrum- pre-adolescent style.

:jerkit:

A thought. Do the mall ninjas envision themselves standing atop corpses, with a bloody knife, ala Conan the Barbarian? Are these tards getting off on thinking about killing someone with a knife? I'm not squeamish, but I don't base my purchases on how my knife is going to deanimate someone! I can understand someone getting excited about a particular style, I used to like United Cutlery, Pakistan and Frost Cutlery before someone pointed me towards Buck. I don't know, and I don't think I want to know.

Awesome! I didn't want to degrade the conversation, but since you've left it's time to do so.

Be honest...is that knife meant to be used by waving it over your head and saying "By the power of Greyskull..." :p

Talking about wicked-looking knives: how do you like this design?

Designed for a highly specific purpose with the KISS principle in mind.

Hmm, well, in that case, it just gained some credibility for me. :D

lol @ you caring enough to look at my damn profile.

I stand beside my cold steel voyager. I bash CS as much as some of these other guys, but that knife is what I carry, and it's my favorite. It's cut through everything I've put it up against, and I wouldnt care as much if something happened to it like I would some of my higher end folders and customs.

That strider is just a jerkoff knife. :jerkit: Something that some guy got a wild hair to make for fun, and dumbass mall ninjas like you bought it and were like OH COOL! It's no better than one of those "Intergalactic Dragon Warrior" Paki bullshit knives Tom O'Dell sells at 3am on some obscure cable channel.

Dont attack my intelligence sir. They dont give masters degrees to dumbasses.

it is much better than those "knives" from the shopping channel- it is made from quality materials, and unlike the crap they sell on tv, I dont have to put " " around Knife when referring to it. It is a knife, and I am sure it will cut and hold an edge.

Is it worth $750? maybe as a safe queen to some collectors.

Does it have a deadly unmentionable mission specific design that is so awe-inspiring and dreadful that nobody dares name it? Only in the heads of mallninja nitwits

Quiet Storm- that is an awesome design.

Some people like to rag on it as a fantasy knife- but I take one quick look at it and I know what it is for. real operators know. I could say it, but I don't want to be "disappeared" by a crack government death squad- Yes, it is that super secret and uberbadass!

The thing has maybe 3 inches of functional edge, which is pretty much made useless by the rest of the 2 pounds of steel behind it getting in the way.

Thats hilarious.

Hey, let's go to the supersecret forum so we can talk about it in private, you know, ninja to ninja, so the mere mortals never find out about it.

These are topics we hardly dare to speak of here at Bladeforums. Those matters can only be discussed in the Mall Ninja Forum. Alas, if you don't know how to find that forum you're not invited.

before i spend 750 dollars on a knife,i would buy a rifle or a quality handgun intead of a high tech straight edge.kinda looks like it came from pakistan.
