I'm in the market for two new knives.

I'm looking for THE most heavy duty overbuilt folder in existence.

For my second knife, I'm looking for the folder with THE widest blade in existence.

Price is not an issue on either one.

So basically I'm looking for a tank and a meat cleaver.

Thanks guys,
Chris

Hey guys,

The description says it all. I'm looking for the folder with the widest blade on the planet.

So far I'm thinking the Sniper Bladeworks DH might be the one. But, there might be a folder with an even wider blade.

Price is not an issue.

Thanks guys,
Chris

If price is not an issue, why not have a custom made? On the production side the spyderco junior would get my vote.

I don't know a whole lot about pure custom-mades so that route isn't really an option. The Spyderco Junior doesn't look like it's a contender and I'm not a huge fan of it. Thanks for the input though.

Kershaw speedbump, Specbump, John Grimsmo Norseman, I'll let you know if I think of any others.

The Spyderco Captain get's pretty wide with it's recurve coupled with the typical SpyderHump. Other than that, any of the large ZT's seem like they would be pretty wide as well.

Whoops, you said widest blade!!!
I read it too quick and thought you said wildest blade.:o

The real question is why are you wanting a folding mini machete? The widest practical folder I have held would be the ZT 550.and wider and it takes up too much pocket space.

Yeah... why do you want such a wide-bladed knife?
I think I can honestly say that this is the weirdest question I've ever seen asked here, and that's saying a lot. In any case... look at Sunfish pattern knives, like this AG Russell, for example.

There's also the Medford Praetorian and TFF, along with the Direware Solo.
I'll also second the suggestion of going custom. You can get a blade as wide as you want, then. It's not very complicated, just upgrade your membership to gold and post what you want here.

David Mosier/Tashi Bharucha (collaberation) Freak or Freak XL

Freak, 4th from the right side...

A whole lotta blade crammed into that folder... :D:D

widest...clearly any custom because you can order as wide as you want then other than that most other knives only go to 3/16th thick because after that the blade geometry goes downhill praetorian I know is thicker than that tho

That's reason enough.

I don't know what to suggest beyond Direware, Medford seems like a contender but I haven't ever seen the two side by side.

I'm on lists for two of the thickest bladed folders, though - the Woods Titan 2.0 and the Dalibor Sirius. They're around a quarter inch each, and I know the Titan is replacing my sword in EDC.

Subscribed, I'm interested to know what the widest folder available is.

Good luck on your quest!
