I need a tank and a meat cleaver. Please help.

That's reason enough.

I don't know what to suggest beyond Direware, Medford seems like a contender but I haven't ever seen the two side by side.

I'm on lists for two of the thickest bladed folders, though - the Woods Titan 2.0 and the Dalibor Sirius. They're around a quarter inch each, and I know the Titan is replacing my sword in EDC.

Subscribed, I'm interested to know what the widest folder available is.

Good luck on your quest!

I think the MKT Praetorian Ti has the thickest blade; .260" blade thickness. I want one badly. 1200 bucks is a lot to swallow though.
Its looking like the Burch Dao might have the widest blade. It's a damn folding cleaver; bad ass.

A whole lotta blade crammed into that folder... :D:D

bad ass! I still gotta keep on lookin tho

Why on Earth would you need the widest possible folding knife?
If it's for collection, a wide fixed blade looks better.
For use, just get an axe!

It's mostly for collection purposes. I'm not really into fixed blades.

Cold Steel Espada XL.
Longest and widest blade you will (probably) ever find in a folder (7.5" long, 2" wide)

I never understood the prototypical sunfish pattern for one reason--why in the world would you want two blades of that width? The primary blade I can understand, but I'd rather have something with a more acute point for the secondary.

The Burch Dao is nothing short of absolutely bad ass! I don't know how in the world I haven't heard of his knives before. The down side is obtaining one. Can't find one anywhere. I'll hit up the exchange and see what's up.

Good luck man, they're rare as hen's teeth and fetch quite a price-tag. Incredible knives though.

Hey guys,

I'm trying to find a folder that has a cleaver style blade. Something like the Burch Dao, Kingdom Armory BtB-F, Tuffthumbz Hell Toad, etc.

The problem with the knives I listed is that they are all virtually unobtainable.

I can't think of any other cleaver style folders that are easy enough to find.

So what are some cleaver style folders that are easier to find/obtain? Price isn't really an issue.

Thanks guys,
Chris

Try to get on Jason Stout's list for a Micro Butcher. Elliot from Ferrum Forge would probably take on just about any challenge as well. Southpaw knives makes some models like the "Risky" which are a bit like the Dao. Mikkel Willumsen Mad Doc. Spyderco Breeden Rescue? These are just the first few makers that popped into my mind. Happy hunting. Cheers.

Magnum knives do a folding Outdoor Cuisine model in 4 different chef knife shapes, Blade lengths are around 5".
Cleaver, Santoku, Cooks knife and a "Nakiri" style (which actually just looks like a spearpoint in the photos).
I'm loath to post a picture, as I got done for "deal spotting" last time even though the site is UK based,
so already more expensive even before you figure in P&P and taxes etc.
Just google/bing Magnum Outdoor Cuisine.

First choice is easily Jason Stout's Butcher or Micro Butcher, just amazing knives.

Next if you don't want to spend on a Custom would be the Spyderco Rescue, which is a Collab with Jason Breeden.

You can find the Rescue for around $100 and its well worth the money, as they are also discontinued and will become harder to come by.

I would say the cheapest way might be to have someone grind a wharncliffe blade into one since it's a relatively rare pattern otherwise. I think the grail of butcher style folders is the Randy Doucette Jekel, it's friggin insane!
