I Need Help

I am not a business, I only sell things that I don't need anymore. That said I treat every sale as if I am the buyer, and treat the buyer the way I want to be treated. Fast ship, well packed etc. I try to only sell in the USA, and it must be shipped insured, tracked, signature confirmation, addressee signature restricted. You can say that ethically the seller is liable, but legally he is not unless something else is agreed upon. I say funk it... let the postal system be liable and I will keep shipping the way that I do:D You can say whatever you want, but you don't want to end up losing everything because the buyer didn't want to pay for insurance etc.

You have to convince me to ship overseas, but you pick the method, you pay actual shipping costs, I'll do whatever I can to provide proof of shipment, trace if lost, file claim whatever... but if I can't insure, track, signature confirm.... they must know that it is their gamble.

And it isn't just other countries that lose/ steal stuff in transit. When I was stationed in Camp Casey South Korea, the Battalion mail clerk was stealing packages intended for his company commander!!! From his co's wife no less. He was doing it randomly until he bit off more than he could chew when she sent her husband a Rolex for his birthday.

Anthony,
Your a good person to even ship to Russia and whenever I deal with a person who resides in a foreign country I let know that I won't be held responsible if there package comes up missing so they understand that if a worse case scenario does occur. I shipped a knife to Switzerland so I am in sort of the same situation as you. In some countries, you can not insure and you ship with the hopes that nothing gets lost or stolen. I do not know the customs for Russia so this can be a learning experience the hard way. I hope this all works out for you.

Whenever I do an overseas deal I always let the person know that once it leaves my hands it's out of my control and any loss/theft etc etc is on them! If they don't agree to these terms than we have no deal period. Regardless of the other guys rep There's too many horror stories out there of loss or theft by other countries postal employees not to insist on this disclaimer.

I agree totally

i'll wager he wishes he would have though lol, imho this is a bad situation for both folks, goblin has no way to know WTF happened, i agree he should refund the $$ but it would be hard for me to choke up too.

i cant see into the future but imho he aint gonna refund the guy & this saga is over.
