I owe a lot of money to a loan snark!

Indeed. People think they can't not have a 9, but i say you its okay if you cannot can't not have a 9 because you should not not have a 5.

Who was it that had the photo hosting site with the most storage?

Imageshack wants me to pay all of a sudden, and my photobucket is full unless i pay them too... Im looking for free :D

Also is there a way to download/save all your images at once to your computer from Imageshack or Photobucket?
flickr is 1 terabyte. That's a whole lotta pictures, even at 10-15 mp each.

Thanks, it's a pretty fun one.

I bet. I have a 15 and it does everything I need it to do. I want to get a 5 sometime, because of the 15.

It really is an incredibly versatile Becker. The 5 has become our camping kitchen prep knife and also pulls duty for other more mundane wood processing tasks.

I can't agree more. I've had mine barely a month and it's already pulled kitchen duty, done yard work, helped landscape out a vegetable garden, processed wood and made fuzz sticks/other camp chores, all without batting an eye. This thing kicks some serious tail. My other knives have collected a little dust this past month--and for good reason.

Anyone ever grow their own vegetables? I got a book and have been reading it and man, there's so much i don't know that i'm getting stressed and discouraged before i've even started!

For some South Carolina specific info,

http://www.clemson.edu/extension/horticulture/index.html

and

http://agriculture.sc.gov/schoolgardens

Looking through these 2 sites, you should be able to find info on which veggies grow best in your area and also get some gardening tips that are geared toward novice gardeners. :D

Thanks for going through all the trouble to find these webpages. Wow, i really appreciate it bub!

I'll be tearing through these resources, this is great. (I'll over look the fact it's from clemson :barf: )

I agree with this statement wholeheartedly. As double negative as it is the statement says what is inherently true. You can most certainly do without other BKs, however, I have come to believe that every household should/needs to have a 5 whether you collect/love knives or not. Without a doubt in my mind.

The BK5 is shockingly good at everything I've thrown at it. This may be my new favorite Becker.

Every state (that I'm aware of, anyway) has an Agricultural Extension Service that gets some level of government funding to provide a website, literature and Extension Agents throughout the state to help advise farmers, ranchers, gardeners, and the like. They usually pick one state college or university to run the program, despite anyone's collegiate allegiances.

Checked out those pages too... Everything that I would of recommended. Simple... good soil, lots of water, let them do their thing.

I did a little digging through the site and it looks like the Smith-Lever Act of 1914 formalized the Extension programs nationwide. SC apparently has 2 different universities who benefit from the act. Good call

When i try something new, I always have a tendency to over think and over plan to ensure my first attempt at something isn't an utter failure. Sometimes i wish i had more of a "just go for it" attitude. Thanks for the tips.

WW you're in our thoughts - hope things are turning out better than you feared.

HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER! I just found a video of 1066Vik dancing]

you are dead to me now -- how dare you defame my character in such a way?
that's an obvious fake.
It's daylight and that person is wearing glasses with clear lenses...

Another "storm of the century" on the way today. Ice, sleet, snow, brimstone, frogs, giant waves, meteors, I forget what all. We are getting thunder sleet though and that's a first in my memory.

yeah - we were supposed to get 1/2" of ice covered with 6-8" of snow....
got some sleet, followed by about 2" of snow, all before sunrise today.

The extension services are mostly run through universities/colleges that are Land Grant colleges. SC has 2 Land Grant colleges, SCSU and Clemson.

While I was looking for the info, I also found this

http://www.scsu.edu/1890/1890background.aspx

which gives background info on Land Grant colleges in SC.

I frequently follow rat-holes on the internet when looking up stuff because I like learning new stuff.

LOL! It is impressive. More folks need to own one.

My wife loves hers!

The BK5 is incredible!
Mine pulls kitchen duty daily. But now that I have this NixKustoms sheath, I need to get it outside more.
I think the blade style throws a lot of people off. I wasn't impressed when I first saw it.
It's one of those knives that when you first hold it and start using it, you immediately notice how agile, useful, and generally awesome it is.
I agree with G&B! "You should not - not have a BK5."

This one is for you Gus!

I'm about to make a nice pic filled thread. But since you asked first and I made a promise that next time I was there I would take pictures.

This is the deuce and a half that we used to cruse around in. Looks like the canvas roof couldn't handle the weight of all the snow. I also fell waist deep into the snow twice trying to climb on the snow pile trying to get that picture lol.

As you can see from the parts cars parked out beside it (and some of the spots I fell through the snow) it was deep! but worth it.

Looks like we will have to put in a little work on her come the summer.

OMG! Tell me that's not the snow depth in the Milton area!
