I remember why I stopped carrying SAK's

I just don't understand how something like this could happen. Not saying it can't, just don't see how it could.

I carry a Cadet or Soldier/Pioneer at times. Never had a problem like this.

Well I sure opened a can of worms.

Was that your intention? 5 pages and a hundred responses with yours bein' the only one that has had them consistently open in your pockets. Don't you find that odd? You must be doin' something wrong, my advice to you is never buy another SAK, they won't miss your business, considering if you bought both classics at msrp you would have only spent $40. I don't think they'll miss your business.

You could always send them in for warranty repair, if they were defective they'll replace 'em.

Of the very few knives that have opened (or partially opened) in my pocket - a SAK (though frequently carried) has never been among them.

I was dubious of the OPs claim, too, but my parents are visiting and dad just showed me this really old Wenger SAK that he is keeps in his travel bag.

Hope this video works.

Edited to add that I've never had a Wenger or Victorinox SAK open in my pocket either and I've carried some old ones (although maybe not as old as that one).

Needler420,

Well I sure opened a can of worms.

and avoided the issue and the help you have been given.

encore :

the split ring preventing the scissors from closing completely and having the pointy end of the scissors exposed.

Yah I was thinking yesterday that must be it. I have had the ring prevent a blade from closing and so I use that SAK with the ring removed.

OP : was that what happened ?
Or is there something more sinister at work here ?

Needler420 . . .

What do you say about that ?
Your turn to answer / respond to that.
Ready set GO . . .
