I so envy all of you Hogs!

Do not get in a hurry.

Show up to a meet and greet some time and feel a few different Busse Knives in your hands.

Do not get in a Hurry, Take your time, when the time is right it will all work out.

Sounds like you have your priorities straight, and for that, you should be able to sleep well at night. I hope you eventually are able to get a TGLB, they are certainly cool knives, but there is nothing more valuable than family. I'm getting married in June so I've been buying up all the Busse blades I can before my wife-to-be puts the brakes on for awhile (temporarily). :D

Damn you too??? HAHA:D I am getting married in November and I am rushing to get all my Busse wishlist into the custom shop before it gets time to put my money on lockdown.

Ron, welcome aboard, you sound like a great guy. God bless you and your family. I hope you get your Busse soon :)

Sounds like an accounting course would help. Sometimes (or a lot of the time from what I hear) people are doing everything they can to stay ahead and things just never seem to "pan out", but really all it takes is a little more discretion and some extra planning to keep everything well under control.

But yeah, if you can sleep well at night that counts for a lot more than a few extra blades.

I couldn't afford my first Busse either so I sold some old blades to pay for it. You could also consider starting with a Swamp Rat instead. Get yourself an RMD. I think they do payment plans as well.

I grew up as a truck drivers kid so I can relate. Don't think my Dad ever drove a mile because thats what he wanted to do, he did it because its what he needed to do. I gave him a gemini for Christmas this year. Gave it to him on our annual father/son walk through the woods on Christmas day. I can honestly say the walk meant more to me than the knife ever would. I can always make another knife or buy him another gift but once the opportunity to spend time with him is gone I cant ever get it back.

Garth

I feel the same way. Wish I could spend more time with mine too.

Ron, This seems to be a bit of a somber thread so i'd like to try to brighten it up by asking what would be your combination if you could afford one?

I'm not perfect, not by any stretch of the imagination. I just try to do my best each and every day I can.

That is all you CAN do! No one is perfect. I have faith that you will one day own a TGLB. :D With enough determination, anything can be done!

An ESEE 6 and a Junglas would make fine tools to pass the time.

an esee is a great knife if you can't get that tglb quite just yet.
Here is my 6. It held me over till I could order a tglb

I can honestly say, that I could live the rest of my life without another Busse knife.

I was perfectly happy before I found them. You don't need a Busse to be happy. If you get one, they won't make you skinnier, smarter, better looking, or a better person.

Try not to dwell on it.

With that said, you could order a large and small Scrapyard for the same price. You would never "need" more knife than that. Honestly, I have owned 13 different Busse, but still want a Scrapyard, and own a Swamprat. A Swamprat or Scrapyard is not settling at all!

My dad raised me without an expensive knife. I grew up without an expensive knife. I got into Busse while in Law School, I was poor as can be. But I had a gun that some one else wanted............Boom! That initial trade got me A FBMLE and Custom knife (which was sold to buyAsh1CG)!

Just save some pennies here and there, and get an 1111..........and another small SYCO, and you will be good for a long time!

I think I would like one(tglb) with the black and tan scales with a blade coating that would match the scales nicely.

Ooh ya, i really like the black/tan combo myself. It really looks nice with the black coated blade.

One day Ron, one day you will have it, i am sure of that!
