I think i am going to do it/ pre-new years resolution

Fresh pic of mine taken today:

I'm enjoying the experiment so far and having fun bonding with my two knives. Not sure if I have gained any enlightenment yet but there's something almost calming about the process. I haven't needed anything else, and I've been using both of them regularly for little daily tasks.

The Case has been primarily handling apple slicing duties at work during breaks. It is picking up a well maintained patina which changes from day to day. It looks almost like case-hardened steel in the right light. It's hard to pick up in the photos, though.

The Cadet has been my handyman tool and box cutter. I've used it to assemble a floor buffer for the wife, and last night I fixed a computer hardware problem (failed CPU fan) using no other tools than the Cadet.

Someday it may be interesting to have a post about "What have you fixed with a SAK?"

It would be an interesting thread, but would belong more in the multi-tool forum I think.

Ryan, do you care if I check in here too?

Still the same carry for me too.

Charlow, LM Juice S2, Streamlight Microstream

It's a good combo, and it has really made me think about what I want in my "perfect" knife. Around a 3.5-3.75", two full blades, one belly, one straight edge.

not at all,
although it seems to me that the My Little Pony show has turned into a glue factory ;)
sounds like you need you a trapper of some sort :p

Been fooling with the photoshop editor
hoping to make a decent pic out of a bad cell phone picture
these look like the best i could do

this looks to be my "go to" pair for the foreseeable future, the texas jack every day and the pioneer for the tools

Yep a 48 Trapper with wharnie is a good match for your description with two full blades.

Yeah Ryan, it pretty much has turned into the glue factory. I went back to the TCB towards the last week of Jan. But, you never know unless you try, right? I'm glad I tried it, mostly because I'd have always wondered "what if" if I hadn't. But now I know. Maybe find someone with a 48 and switch them while they aren't looking. Lol! Although, if I keep looking at your posts, I may end up buying an alox sak, just to coon finger and chicken eye for a bit. I've had cellidor models, but never alox. Very nice.

Eta: nvm on the 48. Dislike the California clip.

Well, been doing it, coming on 2 months now (one week from today)
and i am feeling the waver. there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with either knife, they both function flawlessly and i have had no tasks in which they were inadequate.

that being said, i am getting BORED! i just WANT to change things up a little. sometimes i go grab my gec 85 or my case trapper or (here recently) my buck 309 just to cut up random pieces of paper ...

needing some encouragement or something here. No complaints efficiency wise, perhaps a bit of redundancy due them both being the same-ish size but getting a little itch to throw something else in the pocket here :o

Don't give up! You've got a whole following going on here!! Like Forrest Gump on his run-athon!

GO GO GO!! Just think of our fearless early generations that carried the same pocket knife for 50 years!! :)

As I noted at the beginning of this, I'm allowing myself Sunday's off from same carry rule. It's sort of like the common Lenten practice of indulging in the thing you've given up on the Sunday's during lent.

One of my "Sunday go to meeting" carries.

Interestingly, a single day is all it takes for me to get frustrated with something about the alternatives. In this case, the blade is just too short. Back to this on Monday.

well its past time for an update
yes i am staying the course, i swapped my wenger SI for a black pioneer due to being afraid i wont be able to replace the wenger if necessary
but i have carried the case texas jack daily since january 1st, that makes it 67 days today thats its been a constant companion. So these are pics of what they look like today
(yes new pics, had some sunlight today :P

an "artsy" pic, i know, terrible, but i thought it was cool :p

and a closeup on the patina, as of today :p

and a closeup on the bone scale, again, as of today

Hopefully this is enough pics to make up for the lack of updates prior to today :D

Those are some great pics. I've been sticking with it too, Case Small Texas Jack and Victorinox Cadet every day this year. Well, some weekends around the house it was just the Vic Cadet in my pockets.

Originally I had no plan to do this other than just the first week, but now it has just become second nature to take those two along with me. I'm not sure how long I'll stick with it but I don't feel any particular urge to change so for now I'm just going with it.

Been a little over 2 weeks, figured since i had the day off i would take a couple pics to show where things are today:
so here ya go
