I think I found my "If I had to choose one" folder..!!!

This has all got me thinking, and I may revisit the LionSteel Kur as I had one and did like that one and it's similar in overall shape...

I had long thought the Manix 2 back lock was my "One folder." However, it now has a serious contender in the Straight Spine Stretch K390.

Shaman is a great knife, had one but for me I can't get use to the compression lock, I tried but just not for me, if it was a frame lock or a liner lock, I'd pick one up again.

Have you taken a look at the CME or "compression made easy" from ocd4edc? A little Have you taken a look at the CME or "compression made easy" from ocd4edc? A little pricey for what amounts to a small slab of G-10 but it looks like it would fix some of the issues many people have with compression locks.

I haven't heard of that, will look into it, thanks,

edited to say found a video showing that little bump piece, which looks like a good idea and might make it more comfortable to unlock, but of course, it also looks like it might be too easy to accidentally unlock during use?

One knife? Oh man, I couldn't really pick, but let's just imagine a scenario where I'm headed out on some adventure and need a knife that can do it all. I'd probably have to reach for my CS AD10. Big enough for virtually any task, and a nearly unbreakable lock. I have countless other (much nicer) knives, but in this fantasy situation, it's a knife that I need to be able to beat on and not care, plus the knife has to be able to take it. So yeah, it'd have to be that. The AD15 is a close second, but I don't think it's as comfortable in the hand.

Yeah I suppose that could be a concern. I haven't gotten one myself yet but have been tossing the idea around some because one of the issues that I have with the compression lock is how difficult it can be to use with gloves in colder weather. Trying to wedge a gloved finger in there can be a bear. Maybe I will just make some myself out of balsa wood and see how I like it.

I've been handling it for a couple days now, and the fit, feel, action and ergonomics are top notch.
Its small enough for EDC, yet robust enough for hiking, camping, protection. Absolutely wonderful knife.
It's the plain edged G10 handled Spyderco Shaman.
I found mine some 25 years ago, still in EDC use.
CS Large Voyager Tanto half serrated VG-1

I wish you same longevity with your choice :^)

I’ve pretty well settled in with the Large Inkosi. Which variant I have is a toss up. It’s a good feeling to be content with what you’ve got and not searching anymore

Here's my edc... usually of of these also changes a few times a day.

I've found that "only one" folder a few times now. If we're talking modern folders, the most recent is the Berg Blades Iron Pup. I'm still surprised I like it so much because it's so darned small...and I almost returned it because it was so hard to open.

**of course, the only time I'm likely to be found with just one knife is when I'm at work. Otherwise, I typically have a traditional and a fixed blade; but I'm pretty satisfied with my regulars in those categories, as well
