I think I found my "If I had to choose one" folder..!!!

My one(s). I swap one or more of them out occasionally, for the sake of the picture threads...I pretty much stopped posting in the EDC and fixed/folder threads because I figured people were tired of seeing the same three knives over and over again.

I never get tired of seeing well used and loved knives in the edc thread. Keep posting!

Great thread! I’m back at the office now 5 days a week, so I had to shrink my edc. Am rotating between a PM3, small Inkosi Insigo and a new little LionSteel BnL. Not enough folks here yet to mind, but I don’t want to carry a Hinderer when the Elizabeth Warren bundler cat lady returns any day now!

I liked mine. I reground it to remove the choil (and the kick that invades the lockbar cut out when you close the knife). I filed a detent ramp making it better suited to left handed use, which was maybe 20-30% of my use of the knife. I give it a full length cutting edge all the way back to the handle scales with (in my opinion) better lines, and anzo textured the scales to give it better grip. I even ground into the handle scales a bit to bring the grip closer to the edge for improved cutting leverage with a full handle grip, but still the handle was just too small for me. I traded it for three Tenaciouses (including a blue G10 one, which was not available anywhere at the time), all of which I prefer to the Shaman, because they just feel right for me. The Shaman never felt right in my hands, even after my mods. I liked it, but I couldn't get it to fit.

Do you have a picture of this project?

I need to try the Chapparal. Been considering it.
Its pretty great I have the FRN version in CTS-XHP. So thin ground that it is a slicing demon and easily slides into the 5th coin pocket. Again, being my size I tend to carry larger knives more often than not to fill my hand but even still I can get all 4 fingers on the Chap and in the summer heat it is really nice to slide into the pocket and forget about.

I have been carrying a CRK Mnandi since I bought it back in December of last year. That is a long time for me to carry a particular knife exclusively. I am still quite pleased with it and maybe it is my long term, “The One?”

This would probably be my choice.

There's always room for "one more..."

Great knife. Im 6'4 and can still get a full four finger grip on it. That and the Chapparal are two very compelling small knife options from spyderco.
I'm 7ft1. Is there a knife you'd recommend where I could get that Dragonfly feeling you've got, but a bit bigger for my mitts?

At 7'1": you can carry anything you darn well want to...
Not to get too personal; but how big are your hands; when measured around the knuckles?
(Gives folks an idea of what grip sizes might work for you.)

7'1? Jeez ya the world is your oyster. Full size Benchmade Crooked river, all of the large Cold Steel knives, Spyderco Shaman would probably still work... if I were you I might shy away from the Dragonfly and chap. They are juuuuust enough for me so I would assume they would be at best 3 finger knives for you

If I understand correctly, I wrapped a measuring tape around my "punching" knuckles and it came out to exactly 9 inches.

My serrated Shaman is a little beast and I love it. I want to go a bit smaller and lighter, as most of my rotation involves full-sized folders like Recon 1 and Millie..

All great knives! You might be the only person on the forums that can accurately call the Shaman a "little" beast 😂
Indeed! It's all relative I suppose..

My Native Chief REX45 is a bad mamma-jamma, and I might see what the regular Native 5 (Salt variant) is all about. Similar ergos apparently, but just shorter..

The native chief has been calling my name recently. If there was someone making micarta scales for it that might be the last straw.
