I haven't been around these parts for a while mostly because I haven't gotten out much for a number of reasons.

I've been eyeballing the tweeners for a long time now although it's hard to justify a particular use for them. Then I realized that I don't really care I just want one and decided to go with the 15 because of the extra blade length, the flat grind, and the finger choil.

Still haven't decided whether I'm gonna go through with it or not, but I'm 99% sure I'm gonna go with the BK15 to go with my beautiful BK9.

What do you guys think?

Hello.....you're asking a bunch of certifiable knife nuts - Beckerheads no less - if you should get a knife? A Becker knife? I think you already know the answer.

Hell yeah.

I know I'm getting a BK15. :p I don't think I was supposed to know.

The reason is, I checked my email this morning and there was an order confirmation email for a BK15 that I had on my wish list. Seems my wife ordered it this morning while I was at work so it'll be here for my birthday next week. She's a keeper.

If you don't have yours by next week, I'll let you know what you're missing then.

Yeah I guess it is a little silly, but when your on a budget then decisions tend to get much harder.

All the more reason to go the 15 bro. They're cheap as crack whor... um.. they're cheap at the moment. Yeah. That sounds better. It'll make a great companion to your 9. Choppy 9, slicey 15. Brilliant!

I know what you mean mate, regarding the budget stuff. My darling wife now needs a new car because her current car has just decided to excrete a large turd in its drawers. So, my knife budget has been reduced to watching others buy knives. And being in Aus. makes the knives you guys get for cheap, stupid expensive. Sucks.

Okay you've convinced me I'm getting the 15.

Don't do it! I repeat, do not buy that knife!!

Ok I'm just kidding. I think a tweener with your 9 will be awesome. Few things make me happier than that combination.

Just ordered from the site with the free two day shipping so Saturday will be an awesome day.

The fondle factor of a 15 defies logic. You will not be sorry. I use that knife every day. That trailing point is so unique , spicy and gorgeous and it's going away so it would be a trajedy if you didn't treat yourself. Silverthorn said it best.

Spicy tweener! Bk15 :).

Really though, I did the same thing when I was wanting to buy the 15 (right after it went on sale). I just had to "ask" the beckerheads if I should go ahead and do it. Of course, that's not really "asking" so much as it is saying "write enough words about the bk15, to make me feel better about buying it". And then, as now, the beckerheads are more than willing to help out :D.

And as you see above, it worked. Be glad with your bk15, its the spiciest :D.

Sorry, I just had to :).

The 15 is my favorite Tweener.

Justifying a particular use for them is easy - especially in the case of the 15. For starters, make a fuzz stick and start a fire. Then, develop a good amount of hot coals. Then cook yourself a really nice steak and see why the 15 is nicknamed The Worlds Best Steak Knife. While doing this, use the exposed tang south of the handle slabs to pop open a beer.

When finished, clean your knife in a caressing fashion and, after a pampered dry, cover the exposed steel with mineral oil.

This is just for starters - in no time you and your 15 will being doing much more together. It's a great knife for everything from opening mail to opening a deer. It's also a dandy skinner. Did I mention it's a great steak knife?

It proccesses wood too. Everyone is quick to talk about its virtues vs flesh, and they are right to be (Its a cutting machine) but its surprisingly tough and capable as well. Your gonna be a happy guy.

You guys are awesome I don't feel bad at all about buying my 15!

I understand quite a bit about about being on a budget as far knife purchase go (father of 3 here). With anything in the Becker line you get so much knife for your $. The 15 is an awesome blade. The geometry makes it so slicy! I've used mine for everything from meals, processing meat, yard work, whittling, and processing wood for fire and it has never let me down. I've also recently been practicing hand sharpening recently and I'll tell ya; The 15 sharpens up like a razor!

You won't be disappointed!
