Well I do have a sharpmaker and a good strop for maintenence, but I want to learn how to sharpen freehand so that I can do more than just touch ups.
Oh, I see. I thought you meant you didn't know how to sharpen at all. I'm not great at freehand sharpening, but really it's pretty simple. Just keep your angles right.
I need to make me a strop some time..

I can see it as well, after only one day. . The only thing bad about this knife is breaking in the retention straps. I know the reasoning behind making them so bloody tight when new, but Jesus...I sprained a finger, tore off a cuticle and almost caused a cerebral aneurysm, trying to button that lower snap. LOL
I hear you they are pretty awful out of box, but mine broke in after a couple days.
Ya' I left mine snapped overnight and they have already improved. With all the actually, seriously nutso things going on in my life at the moment...What a pussy thing to bitch about. LOL
I removed the top snap on mine because it was keeping the whole rig in a straight line. I like how the loop now curves away from the handle when the bottom of the sheath is strapped to my leg. The bottom strap, which most folks complain about, was the easy one to snap. The top one, now gone, was the really tight one.
