I think this one takes the cake!

I think that Taylor could make a similar design in china, but to add the D'holder logo, then that's a law suit right there, shurely.

Dale, I'm not Del, but the knife in question here appears to be a genuine, pre 2004 SDH1. The only thing questionable about it at all is the 0921 serial number and the First Production Run 1 of 500 etch. I thinks Del's previous reasoning on the knife is correct. I have a mint original example serial nr.0460and it does not have any tang stamp or country of origin identification. The only identification is the Schrade/D'Holder etch on one side and the First Production Run 1 of 500 on the other The knife in question with serial number 0921 should not, according to records and information available, have the First Production Run and 1 of 500 etch. This indicates to me that Del's reasoning is right on track. I just happened to think, that the seller could have or may have miss read the serial number and if so it makes all the previous few posts just excercise.

...the seller could have or may have miss read the serial number...

This happens more often than you would imagine, particularly with the LB-7's I am researching. 0123456 is often O 123456. Both are valid serials for the pattern. Same for 8123456 - B 123456. It makes a huge difference in my records trying to determine dates of packaging and engineering changes. Also,we must remember that a limited edition of 500, with a high rejection rate, might have numbers 20% over the high target number and still be valid serials.
