Its ok. I'm just envious. Looking at picture of the pile of knives makes me want to roll around in them....wait...that wouldn't be good. You know what I mean...And what makes you think I haven't bid on all of them on EVIL Bay;)

well, you know, been working on those a long time. decades. so it goes. dribs, drabs, spurts, this that.

Well if you ever feel like the weight of those BK10s is too much I will be more than happy to take one off your hands :) :D :D :D

Just figured i would lend a hand:cool:.
Now if i could just find a Fiddleback Forge Hunter somewhere, id be :D:D.
Keep your eyes peeled for me.;)
Thanks.....

it's certainly in the range :) let's go with that as an average...

13.34 - 12.00 == 1.34 ounces difference in weight.

i got boogers that way more than that ;)

I'm curious of where the 13.34 oz. weight for the BK2 came from?

I weighed mine and it's at 14.8 oz(340 grams).

1st vs 2nd generations:

o KaBar Era First Generation
oo Shape: drop point
oo Edge Angle: 20 degrees
oo Grind: flat
oo Steel: 1095 CroVan
oo Rc hardness: 56-58
oo Blade length: 5.25 inches
oo Overall length: 10.5 inches
oo Blade thickness: 0.25 inches (0.2540 measure sample)
oo Knife Weight: 14.6 ounces
oo Handle: Grivory-GV-6H
oo Sheath: Black nylon with liner
oo Origins: knife made in USA, sheath made in China
oo MSRP: US$

Similar to the first generation, except the handles are now skeletonized, and there's a pommel hammer/striker, this drops the weight about a tiny bit (1.26 oz (toooj)) and move the balance a wee bit forward:

o KaBar Era Second Generation
oo Shape: drop point
oo Edge Angle: 20 degrees
oo Grind: flat
oo Steel: 1095 CroVan
oo Rc hardness: 56-58
oo Blade length: 5.25 inches
oo Overall length: 10.5 inches
oo Blade thickness: 0.25 inches (0.2540 measure sample)
oo Knife Weight: 13.34 ounces (1.26 ounces LIGHTER than the first generation)
oo Handle: Grivory-GV-6H
oo Sheath: Black nylon with liner
oo Origins: knife made in USA, sheath made in China
oo MSRP: US$101.64

Mine is a second generation. It also seems as if the blade is 5 1/8", measured from tip to the front most part of the handle. Just an observation.:)
