I want to know YOUR grail

I always think of a "Grail" knife to be unattainable. So that would be ridiculously priced, very rare, or both. For me the knife would have to be carried and used. It would either have to be a great jack of all trades EDC or serve a distinct purpose other than my defining terms of the word "Grail" above. There are plenty of knives I can't afford, especially given my criteria. My Shirogorov 95 Hati is likely the most perfect, expensive & rare knife I'll ever buy. Considering my own personal tastes and biases it is very close to what I might consider a Grail. I'd love to have a Strider/Terzuola collaboration, a Crusader Forge folder, a Scott Cook Loshsa, a Raymond Estrella, or a ect... though!
I guess it depends on what you definition of grail is. For me, a Brian Tighe is what i've wanted for years even though it's not super up there in price compared to a Southard or a Mayo for example and the fact that I finally got one gives me that sense of accomplishment in finally getting my "grail".

I don't know if "grail" is really the right term as it's totally attainable, but I'm counting down the days (read: years) until John Gonzalez gets to me on his list. I'm going to get a Dervish Alchemy folder. :D

After that, I would say one of the Rockstead Un's would be nice to get someday if I have the disposable money :)

It would have an H1 steel blade with H1 hardware.
Grips would be titanium
ergos similar to a Emerson

For me, a grail that I long to have, but do not would have to be a large regular annual sebenza with a damascus blade and mammoth ivory. I do have 2 large regulars with damascus blades, but have never owned mammoth ivory...........These are pretty much untouchable....!!!

John is still about 3yrs of backlog just incase you didnt know
As for me I dont really have any grails...
of course I have high end knives I want but given time I can find them
But the 2 hardest to get would probably be a wrbladeworks phobos and a custom Begg bodega

th

I bet you've never seen anything like that.

Yeah, my rough guess is I'm between 1.5 to 2 years away before its my turn, I've waited 1.5 already, what's another couple? :)

My grail isn't a knife, it's a traditional Japanese sword. Any made by Yoshindo Yoshihara. I see one example that's a tanto hand forged with tamahagane and gibeon meteorite! Maybe one day I'll trade my car for one.

hey, I am sending it to Jeff at 4Bush Weapons

I am getting it, along with the pocket clip cerakoted titanium blue.

Just a ZT 0560 for me., nothing too terribly fancy or expensive. Unfortunately, even this is out of my affordability range!

Custom built KaBar USMC. Cerakoted compound blade of cpm D2 edge including the swedge copper welded to a 5160 blade and full 5160 tang. Blade would be 7 1/2 inches instead of 7 to make room for a choil in front of the guard. Handle will still be stacked washers but treated and cut to allow for the full tang which would match the countour of the washers. Handle would of course be riveted to the tang. The end of the tang would stick out the end of the handle a quarter inch and have a oval hole through it for lanyards etc. The actual end of the tang would form a pommel similar to what is traditional but be offset a few degrees for the glass breaker above it. Hammer, glass breaker and wicked fighting blade. Oh yeah the blade shape would be reverse tanto and thick enough to use as a prybar or chisel. No serrations please.

That's about all for now. I think if I had those, I would find more that I wanted, but after a thousand dollars in Laconicos, I would have to stop for a while!

The Brad Southard CF Compound. I'm not necessarily crazy about the compound grind, but everything else about this knife thrills me, including the proud liners. Picture borrowed from the Southard website.
