... needs traditionals, dang it.
Case large CV Bonestag Stockman, filed the blade kicks and rounded the bolsters, then lowered the tops of the blades. The spay is converted in a semi-spear-drop point.
The pen blade on the old Robeson Stockman (top knife in this pic) was ground down by a previous owner into a screwdriver tip, and works perfectly in electrical outlet screws, doorknob screws, etc. I filed it a little further to square up the tip, as it had been used a lot, by the look of it.
U.S. Schrade 77OT. When I got this one, one blade tip was broken off and the other blade tip was bent. I converted both to Wharncliffe styles, as best I could given the old tools I had at the time. (Old crappy cell-phone pic.)
The Endura 4 here (second from the right) came from a previous owner who had cut a crude but effective "Wave" feature into the top of the blade; it worked, but shredded pockets. I ground it down, then later switched the black scales for the British Racing Green of the ZDP-189 Endura. The clip is from a stainless Endura. The Delica has had the black scales switched out with the grey "Waved" model.
Cold steel spartan: I shamelessly stole Charlie Mike's idea of rounding the top of the blade, then I cut a "Boye Detent" into the lockbar. (This one is a work-in-progress.)
Emerson CQC-10, middle knife in the pic. Scales mod'ed by a previous owner. Very cool mod. I took it further and worked the handle edges down, for more comfortable grip when working without gloves.
Stripped the blade finish on my BK-7, then ground/filed off the ramp. Later I filed slots into the scales to provide a better grip with gloves. A switched out the grip screws with stainless steel slotted screws, heated in a gas flame and dropped in cold water to darken them. That way I can use the screwdriver of my Victorinox Huntsman to remove the scales and get to the matched inside if I need them. the sheath sleeve kept coming out, so I used parts from my junk bin to hold it in. The fancy professional knotwork is courtesy of my son.
