I would appreciate the forums input/help

TD, Rens one of the most patient, fair and generous people on this forum, I think maybe you need to reacess your attitude and complete your transaction, if your not :) then don't deal with Ren, your method of resolving this issue will do you more harm reputaion wise than good, and have little or no affect on Rens reputation.

Send the knife back and move on.

You post an inflamatory thread and than don't answer anyones replies.

This is sad.
A deal is not done until both parties are happy. You did wait a while before you decided you were not happy.Ren sent you a refund and you should have sent the knife back same day if at all possible.Return shipping IMHO is up the the person that is shipping it and with the price of the knife haveing the shipping included the shipping charge was refunded to you anyway.
This should have all been taken care of very quickly with out the need for the GB and U.

The knife went out in todays mail and the seller has been notified.

I truely did not have the time to get to the post office before today. Which was unacceptable by some. I have been duely chastised by the forums which I fully expected, knowing full well in advance the seller would win any popularity contest straight up.

I stated my side of story to begin with, including my exact original inflamitory remarks that set the whole thing off to begin with, which is what I intended to disclose. I didn't try to play down my involvement in the issue.

I have wished the seller happy hunting in his future doings,

TD

Dan;We did not side with Ren due to his popularity.Just tried to give you honest feedback, some a little harsher than others. No one is perfect, and I'm sure you come away with this as a valuable learning experience. You didn't handle the transaction well, but at least your not a thief.I do applaud you for coming in here and taking your beating like a man without whining. So, perhaps you can chill for awhile, and try some transactions in the future with better results.Take Care,Ralph

This is no popularity contest, I don't even know Ren, but I can tell you that you should be glad that you didn't buy the knife from me.

I don't do paypal, and I sure don't sell knives based upon the condition of the box, and ANYBODY who would buy/not buy a knife based on box condition is an ARA that I don't want to know.

Do yourself and everybody else a favor. Don't post on the forums for a while, maybe even change your name when you do come back on. You give knife collectors a bad name.

This is correct. I have received a email this morning saying the knife was in the mail insured.

Your involvment in this issue could have turned a lemon into lemonaide for us both. But instead of being kind and polite you insult me. Then you never apologize for this, which you could have done..honestly everyone has a bad day and says or writes something they regret later. Then you further irritate this issue by insulting me again by creating this thread! instead of trying to settle the issue by trying to make things right...

This whole issue could have been avoided if I got a email like this...

"Ren,
Im sorry I was very bummed about the knife and said some inflammatory things which I should not have. Thank you for refunding my money. What is customary here do you pay return shipping or do I ? Also I am swamped with work so its going to be next week before I can get the knife in the mail to you I hope thats ok."

So if I can steal a phrase from a paul newman film " what we have here is failure to communicate" and as a result you have given yourself a self inflicted gunshot wound. Your reputation here is trashed beyond repair and this is a result of your boorish and poor behavior not because I am more popular than you. This isnt about popularity its about behavior. I treated you well, you treated me like shiiit. The amazing thing is many people have told you to apologize you still are to stubborn or stupid to do this. Forget it now too late not for me but for you.

now you have more red spots on your reputation than chicken pox..too bad too it could all have been avoided..

well anyway...the knife is in the mail and as far as I am concerned as long as this knife is returned its over.....

TD, why would you post the details of this transaction on these boards? I really don't see a few blade blemishes as a big deal, after all, if Ren is correct about value, you got a helluva good deal! I could understand if a blemish meant the knife was devalued a couple hundred dollars, but come on! Again, theres nothing wrong with asking questions about the knife that you are going to lay cash on! IMHO, if it is going to be used, I could care less about SOME sharpening blemishes, if it is badly disfigured, then I would be pissed too, but I WOULD SEND THE KNIFE BACK RIGHT AWAY as soon as I got my refund. I can understand how you felt about this, you probably were mad that you spent this amount of money, and you didn't get what you wanted to the letter, and that you are wary of sending 80 bucks back through the mail, you wanted to be covered on your end. I have done this too, but I have automatically sent the product back right away. Also, for something miniscule, I have not called the seller unscrupulous! I may have bitched and complained because a seller didn't tell me that the knife I bought was a POS, but that one time, they posted it as NIB (eBay). What I really can't understand is the point that you would even post this on the forums. I've seen some of Rens posts, they are entertaining, I have to admit that some popularity is involved, we are all only human, but why in the world would you want to post what happened with this transaction, where you obviously overreacted? Any individual possessed of some thought process would realize that this wasn't a good example of commerce on the buyers part. Once again, I see little problem with demanding a refund before you send it back if you are unfamiliar with the seller, I've gone back and forth with people for months, I know I will take care of them, but I don't know them from Adam, this is usually on eBay(I would probably feel differently if I was the seller), but you should've sent it back right away after you received the payment! This is beating a dead horse, but I wanted to throw my 2 pennies in...

Excuse me, but has Tracker Dan totally dropped off the face of the earth?
I don't think he received the kind of support from you people that he expected. I don't think he deserves any support because I think he's totally in the wrong here. The only way I think TD can make this right is to get Ren back his knife with a note of appology. Until that happens I think TD is in the Dog House.

Frankly, Ren refunding the money before the knife was returned is more than I would have done and really is above and beyond. It goes to show these transactions are not always "strictly business" and emotions can take over. What other online business will refund before getting an item back?

And so closes another chapter in our ongoing soap opera "The Edge of Wetness"

:D

Say, "Goodnight Gracy!"

Glad to see this done.

Ren, your quick post of having recieved the knife is FIRST CLASS, so is your willingness to close.

TD, glad you got this done,

My hopes are that time will pass and you will be buying and trading again.

Sellers need buyers and we all make mistakes. Would be willing to bet we all learned from this, maybe the hard way, but still learned.
