I Would Buy That If.....

Good point! that stupid logo everywhere, SOG calls it the piston lock but it should be called the plastic lock I've never tried one without up and down play and one time I got the guy at Cabela's or Bass Pro (can't remember which) to get me like 5 and they all had it. Also nearly every reviewer you can find points out that it has up and down play.

I would have kept my Hogue EX-04 if it was available in a tip up carry position. Really nice knife silly they do not have this option. I am totally happy with the EX-01 I replaced it with.

Not trying to invalidate your opinion but, what is the problem woth the wave? Why do so many people have an issue with it?
i originally bought he cqc6k to see if i liked the wave and because i got it for dirt cheap. I dont carry the same knife everyday, i tend to switch often. So when i carry the cqc i tend to forget about the wave. it opens only half way and i cut myself when i try to open it. It also really feels gimicky to me as i really dont care how long it takes to take a knife out of my pocket

I would buy a lot more knives if they had micarta handles.

....I hope all these wishes don't come true. We'd have to buy a lot more knives...

I had one of the Kershaw Emerson's for a very short while it opened mid pocket. I reached in my pocket and it snapped closed, nearly cutting my finger off at the third knuckle. Doc said if it had not closed at the angle it did, it would have straight through and the end of my finger off.

Worst part was, I was giving it to the guy marrying my cousin as a congratulatory gift. He still has the knife, I had been pulling out of my pocket (unclipped, when the wave caught. I was carrying a ZT 0801 myself. Turned out the doc who stitched up my finger was a knife enthusiast and was carrying a leaf storm. He said the same thing happened to him, and will never own a wave again.

I wish more knives were offered with full length serrations.

I also wish there were more flippers that weren't framelocks. It gets quite cold here in the winter, and a frozen slab of metal in my hand or pocket is not fun. I only carry my Ti knives when it's above 50°.

I'd like to see more wood scales. I love organic materials.

The Hogues are such beautifully done refined knives. Did you know some of them don't even have real washers, rather they have psudo washers which are just shaped into the scales.

Honestly I am not in love with the spoon shaped pocket clip featured on most hogue knives.

I'd buy lots of Kershaws if they had better than 3Cr13MoV steel
I'd buy lots of A/O SOGs if they didn't have lots of blade play 90% of the time
I'd buy lots of USA made Gerber if they didn't cost three times as their Chinese versions
I'd buy lots of Spyderco if they were offered in full SE (like the Ulize, Yojimbo 2, etc.)
I'd buy lots of CRKT and Boker collabs if they had better steel, materials and quality for the price, they're nice looking and attractive designs but extremely overpriced!

I'd buy a Spyderco Wilson South Fork or Sprig (despite the insanely (for me) high price) if they hadn't that stupid un-necessary hole in the blade (yes, I know why the hole is there. Still... no).

would buy a crkt if they offered slightly better materials and QC.

would buy boker if they weren't such terribly low quality

would buy kershaw if they weren't so low quality and using budget 8crmovcrap steel

While the biggest thing preventing me from buying knives I want is having no money for them, I know that that's not very fun! So I would say that I would buy more high end Spydercos if they were made in the U.S. (Nothing against the quality of the Taiwan plant, there's no doubts there, but I just enjoy knowing that I am supporting American workers)

I would buy a Mcusta if they used phosphor bronze washers instead of plastic washers.
They are actually Nylatron washers. they are better than nylon and plastic washers. but i have to agree id like to see them use PB instead. i wont buy another Mcusta. i like them but they really are just high end budget knives imho.

just came from a walk and visiting a local knife store, I remembered some pet peeves of mine

- I'd buy many more folders if they came in not-only-one clip carry position
- I'd buy lots of knives if they weren't applied a bead blast finish
- I'd buy some CRKT models if they didn't have that stupid Auto-Lawks
- I'd buy lots of ZT if they weren't framelocks

I won't carry a waved knife because I don't need any help from something snagging my pants pocket to open my knife. IMO it's the most widely used silly gimmick in the folder world. And don'get me wrong, I've been a fan of Emerson designs since the early days of his Benchmade collaboration, and own many (Persian being one of my favorites). I've shook the mans hand (Ernie) at Blade Show and have much respect for him. Just not a wave fan. And finally I realize I am in the minority as the vast majority of Emersons sales are waved knives.
