I'd like to see a Becker hatchet

I would like a Becker tomahawk with a hammer end on it. Doesn't need to use Becker scales. Longer handle you can use two hands with please.
Yes, that's what I like about the Estwing, its hammer end is awesome. And the handle is long enough or two hands if you need. Even the BK2 is no match for my rubber mallet on tent stakes, one miss and you hit it with ur hand.
Just read about that one the other day.
Take a trip to the store and handle one, there everywhere. Prob more heavy than you'd like but a great price and solid product. I'd think this one we're dreaming of could be similar but maybe thinner and lighter.

I'd like to see it sorta plain Jane blank canvas for modding. Not a bunch of weird angley cutouts and nonsensical tactical hooks and random spikes and cut outs.

Guess I'm not the only hatchet fan then :) I know gerber cops a lot of crap on this forum and deservedly so , but I do like my fiskars hatchets , and fiskars is owned by gerber isn't it ?

Fiskars owns Gerber, I believe. And they make killer hatchets and axes at good to great price points and made in Finland with lifetime warranties.

I'd love to see a Becker hatchet, and I recall hearing Uncle E. say he would like to see one, too. 1095CV would have to be substantially altered for that kind of tool, tho....too hard for chopping. They'd have to get it to come in at a lower Rc, and still might not be the best steel for a chopping tool (tho I'm no expert). Think I'd rather see a tomahawk....better for throwing ;). In the meantime, CRKT makes a pretty nice one, and it compliments Beckers well:

that is a nice looking hawk for a crkt

That's the Kangee Woods Hawk. I'm pretty sure tradewater has the Chogan Woods Hawk, which has a hammer poll instead of the spike. The Kangee throws well (and chops pretty well, too) and both were designed by Ryan of RMJ Tactical....so...cool factor.

I don't find hatchets offer much more to me than what my bk9 can do. And you lose versatility. I have to go up in size to a boy's axe in order to increase my chopping ability. But that's just me. I can't wait for the RBK.

This, exactly this.

I have found that my BK9 chops just as well as, if not better than any hatchet I've ever used, plus it is more versatile (which is why I prefer it over a hatchet).

I think I'd prefer a tomahawk/Ulu design personally. Something where the head could be slipped off fairly easily to use for camp cooking/etc, then put back on well enough to chop/throw well. Maybe that's a weird design... but it just occurred to me, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Here's a quote of Ethan's reply from a thread about a BK&T Tomahawk a while back...

I have given it a thought.....More than one actually..........Actually a whole bunch more than one...... So many drawings......

So far I have not figured out anything for anywhere near what an Estwing hatchet costs that I think is better value in a belt Axe....... I will never quit working on it tho.........Trust me, I am working on it.....

I'm happy with Becker knife and tool , all I'm saying is , if old mate makes a hatchet I'll give it a go.

Well, that affirms my fondness of the Estwing in my mind lol.
And I be willing to pay a bit more for
1) its a Becker
2) more hawky and less axey
3) a bit lighter
4) its a Becker

Personally I'd like it more Hatchet axey than Hawky...but agree with NCSlice in it been a great point to say "Its a Becker"

Man, I would have loved a Utility knife with a Becker-esque handle back when I was on job sites 60 hours a week.

Here's the hawk I was talking about earlier.

At a MSRP well north of $250 - while a beautiful tool - that is not exactly what I'd call a "value". Which is Uncle Ethan's point....I still like the idea of a 'hawk for versatility....but KaBar isn't really in the forging business. Until or if such a time that this becomes reality, I'm damn happy with my CRKT Kangee. Good deal from Dex, too.

I agree totally. I meant more along the lines of something similar-ish with the extended nail puller tang. I can't really say I "need" a hawk, but I'd buy one right away if Becker made it. I see exactly what you mean tho.

I'd also like to see mr beckers interpretation of an E tool , ( I have a thing for for folding shovels) . Plus also the the E tool , E for Ethan
