Idaho made engraving on nyala

Several months ago, Chris spoke with Leadblaster on the telephone about this issue and Chris made it very clear that he was not going to change the Idaho Made engraving. According to the email conversation Leadblaster began with us on May 29, he purchased the Nyala “around 12 months ago”. There have been multiple subsequent email exchanges between him and me; essentially, each email requests an Nyala with no Idaho Made. I have reached the point where I can't say any more except:

It has been said before and I will say it again:
• Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
• We do listen to what our customers say, but we make our own decisions.
• We appreciate and value the loyalty of our customers and take nothing for granted.
• Integrity and courtesy (right along with outstanding designs and close tolerances:)) are the cornerstones of our company.
• Idaho Made will be engraved on all the products we choose, and we do not offer an include/exclude option.

So, after reading the above post....what box of ideas are you talking about??

Chris D. :D

Yes, some parting thoughts. Why did leadblaster keep skirting the suggestion that he return the knife to the dealer since the stock pics didn't portray what he got. I think it's pretty chickensh*t but it is a possible "out."

I think you should love that knife. I think it's a beauty with or w/o the engraving and the engraving gives opportunity to let people know you buy imported steel.

I think you love it and just needed to vent. - burnside's right - party's over now, time to use that bad boy and love it like you know you do in your heart. :D

BTW, you aren't the only one who agrees about the stamp: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/821010-Nyala?p=9283595#post9283595

What a beauty, I honestly never saw one until just now in that link. She's a keeper leadblaster.

I for one have never been bothered by the Idaho stamp. To me it doesn't take anything away from it's looks. It's not like it's in neon yellow. It actually makes me proud that it's made right here in the U.S. considering our economy and all the anti-American feelings.

I hear what you say, I do, but that is what makes us all different. I just can't come to terms with the engraving, my choice would be to have a virgin blade and that's what I thought I was getting. I just don't see me liking it anytime soon. Maybe it will grow on me, time will tell, as for "skirting" around the issue of returning it. I just couldnt make my mind up enough to let it go even with the engraving on it, so it never went back.. No hidden surprises just didn't send it back.

As for the empty box analogy, I was merely suggesting that we go on discussing differing views for as long as everyone wants, some people can see there is nothing to discuss and others may have plenty more to say.

I was asked by the mods to create a new thread, this is what I have done. And apart from the few people whom are mocking this thread it has been a good discussion on the likes and dislikes of the idaho made engraving. If you don't like what you are reading then don't read it.. Simple, if you have got something you feel would add to the discussion of meaning then fire away, but don't just bla bla bla over the post, this is my first time on here and I was hoping for a better reception.

We all have differing views granted but to just think that because you've had enough, everyone's had enough doesn't really cut it!

Which mod told you to start another thread? Not me, for sure:
"323 posts, ended a year ago, and you revive the thread to rant. Not impressed."

Not Chris Reeve Knives:

You didn't come here to encourage a discussion. You came here to whine. When you resurrected the last thread, you lied about cutting up your knife, and your rant descended into vulgarity. Close enough to see you as a troll.

As the last thread demonstrated, there are many out there who don't like the new stamp, and many more who seem to. There is a proud and successful manufacturer who does like it, and who has said in every way possible: it stays. Anything else? No, I don't think so.

Further discussion will only stir up further dissension. We do not need people on both sides repeating their opinions for hundreds of more posts. Please show some dignity, and some courtesy, and find yourselves knives you like, and discuss them.
