I preferred the Classic stamp, but like the Idaho Made one just fine too. It seems insane to me that someone would not buy one of the world's best pocket knives simply because of a tiny stamp occupying such a small portion of real estate on the handle. To each his own though.

I don't hate it. I would like it if it were right side up actually. However I would only want it on a plain version. I think it looks tacky on the nicer stuff....someone posted a pic of their damascus that IMO didn't look that great with the stamp. Kind of ruined it for me.

..not sure who you're blaming, Chris or the people objecting to it. ??

Regardless, "Idaho Made" became an issue because it seriously conflicts with the austere beauty that is the signature design element to a Chris Reeve's knife! When where something's made stands out more prominently than who it's made by you've got a problem. It's so bad that I won't be buying any of Chris' new knives with that atrocity on it.

I was heavily distracted today, I'm in the middle of a move and I shouldn't have even commented without getting a better look at the Idaho made thing.
Sometimes I should just STFU.
Anyway, I like the knives better without it.
To be honest, I'm glad my CR knives don't have it on 'em.
It's a little brash.

me - 2 cents

I liked the Classic, but do not like the Idaho Made there. I believe it should go on the tang

that wouldn't be so bad. I might actually like an engraving of the state, opposite of the CRK logo and about the same size. sort of like what Tom Mayo does with the outline of Hawaii on the blade of some of his knives but much smaller.

Listen carefully “teacher”.

The last person that told me to “hush”, in the manner you are doing, got b|tch slapped into the previous week. You have done NOTHING BUT BAIT ME by posting your little smartassed +1, +2, hush(!) .ETC. This is a PUBLIC FORUM and if you’ve got a problem hearing/reading other members opinions/replies then I don’t know why the f*** you are here, NOW DROP IT!
My goodness, was she badly hurt on her trip into the last week?

I have no problem at all hearing/reading others opinions/replies.... the OP had just politely asked us not to turn this thread into that.

It does not surprise me at all that you don't know why I am here my friend. :)

Carefully listening..... dropping not a whole lot
. ;)

Good idea for the poll, but I am kind of in a 5th selection...

"I am indifferent about it, but will purchase knives with it"

As much as I like CRK....,I seriously disliked the "MM" classics and also don't like the "Idaho made" CRK's

There's just something about a plain, naked CRK-folder with only Mr Reeve's "signature" on the front slab.

Loved the regular Sebenza, love the Mnandi and the 21....,the aestethics are just better without additional lettering.

Just my 2 cents off course...;)

What part of DROP IT! didn’t you understand???

..that’s a glaring omission on your part of “carefully listening” and the height of hypocrisy.
Furthermore, you just keep instigating matters!

I now see that you have an over inflated opinion of yourself making a comment like that to a perfect stranger. Since you are “not surprised”, I can’t help but think you might be suffering from a Personality Disorder and likely need professional help. When people suffer from Narcissism/Egotism/.etc they fail to see what’s obvious to others. In this case, instead of making your original point and letting it go, you’ve only succeeded in showing what an ineffective teacher you really are. I believe the common vernacular these days is “total fail”. I’ll pray for you.

To everyone else:
I apologize for all of this off-topic banter.
When I replied yesterday, this poll was at the top of the board when I logged in and I just voted and then read/replied to the first post I saw. I had NOT READ those other lengthy threads and had no idea what has been going on over here. I had seen some pictures posted on another board of this new "Idaho Made" logo so I obviously had an opinion and expressed it. That is all.

I really wanted an option of:
"Love the knives and do not care about the label." I neither like or dislike it. I bet most of the time I will not even see the words while carrying/using the knife.

I am not going to deprive myself of a great knife because of some cosmetic change that has nothing to do with its function.

People generally don't buy things, especially $300+ knives, solely based on function.

I do. I buy SF lights because I know I can buy it once and depend on it forever. I like CRK knives because I know that twenty years down the road it will still be here.

BTW, per suggestion I updated the original post with a picture of the stamping.

You either like it or don't. The question is (if you can't tell which) is would you prefer a knife pre-engraving or post?

I figured those that don't mind it would be rounded up into the "like it" category since they would be happy with a knife that had it on it.
