It really is no worse than the Classic MM on my Sebenza. It would not be a deciding factor in my purchase. I would take silver studs and Idaho Made over Blue studs. That said my new Sebenza just ordered is the Ole Glory Model with Blue studs.

I dislike it intensely. if it isn't optional I'll limit my CRK purchases to extant models on the exchange barring the introduction of something really novel.

My objection to the "Idaho Made" engraving is not its content (laudable), but it's placement--which is garish. There are numerous places on the knife, and that includes on the outside surfaces of the handle, where these two words (hopefully in a more discreetly sized font) could have been engraved which would have attained the result without being a billboard.

That is my respectful opinion, worth all of whatever the manufacturer considers it to be. I have my first CRK, a Lg Sebenza Insingo, and I'm very glad that it pre-dates this new manufacturing decision.

Best Regards,

Adam

Thank you for all your sometimes passionate oppinions. But I can not please everybody all of the time. It is there for a reason that is important and is not going away.So calm down and be happy.

You are maker, its your product, do as you please, I on the other hand will not be purchasing any knives with that logo. Your product is fantastic so I guess from now on its the exchange to find older, non-marked knives

I don't think that is the real Chris. His name is always in Red when he post, and Chris also has more than 3 post here.

That's the general moderator account (Chris Reeve Knives). For all we know this is or is not actually Chris. I'm inclined to think so simply because I doubt a fake "Chris Reeve" account would be allowed, just like a "Sal Glesser" or "Bob Loveless" would probably be removed unless confirmed as the actual person.

He has alway spoken from his moderator account in the past, except for these 3 post.
He also puts a space after a period from what I can tell from his post.

There are a few fake Jerry Busse's here on BF, so it could happen:p

How do we find out for sure? Chris is that you?... and if so let us know from you Red mod. account:p

I'm at work so I'll just send an email to confirm the authenticity of the account. I know that they are too busy to keep up as regularly as some of us want on the forums.

Well it sure sounds like the Chris I've met. He is a no nonsense type of fellow.

:o

I have confirmation from both Esav and Heather at CRK that Chris Reeve (user) is in fact Chris Reeve (person). :)

Well, in that case............

To Chris (and teacher, who seems to be bordering on a breakdown in support of the writing and his furiously incredible insistance to publicly ridicule everyone several times who has spoken against it),

First off, I think that the writing is an eye-sore and I will never own a knife with it. If there was a genuine reason for it's inclusion, it could surely have been placed somewhere more discrete. In fact, if you had to pick the last place to put it, and how, what has happened would be just about be hitting the nail squarely on the head.

But what has gotten my back up more than anything is the way that these things like this writing and product changes just appear and then we are deemed as being too excited, stupid or plainly incorrect to query them. Let's be honest, the only time we see someone from the company now is to 'put us in our place' in a very blunt and in several occasions, downright ignorant manner. The essence of what I feel can be described as a disappointment in the communications methods after a CRK event or news story and, more worryingly for me anyway, a total lack of buyer thought and opinion in product development. What is the purpose of an official CRK forum if the company stays as silent as the heavens and when we do occasionally spot a new development and mention it, the people's questions and views lead to scorn?

On the subject of a forum, while I appreciate that forum members have the right to an opinion and others then have the right to comment on that view, I am sick of just about every comment and opinion being driven into the ground and beat to death.

Therefore, between a jaded sense of company pride which I once near worshipped as being above reproach and a general disgust of forum traffic, I am out of both Chris Reeve Knives and here.

Mark

...Dang. That speaks volumes.

And the confirmation sucks too. I was hoping it was someone else. At least move it, put it on the lock bar so it wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb on a nice custom seb.

Chris - as always, thank you for joining us. Putting aside the discussion on the merits of the new markings, I'm curious as the "importance" of having them on these knives. It could be laudable pride in your adopted hometown, or it could mean that there will eventually be Chris Reeve branded knives that are NOT-Idaho Made.

Thanks Josh:thumbup:, I wasn't 100% positive with the name in blue and the three post.

Yep I agree, Thats all Chris needed to say:thumbup:

edit- BTW, I did get an order in yesterday for a double thumb lug 21 from TNK before the change. So I'm set on Sebbies for a while anyway. And who knows, these Idaho stamped knives may be highly desirable years from now.

Here I was wondering if that last poll option was actually going to be used, I guess that's my answer.

I dislike the stamp, but would be fine owning a knife with it. Heck, I might have one come back with it's three brothers from Boise if I can't work out something with a ATS-34 P Large.

Double post when I was trying to edit, sorry.

Naaah, I doubled up on my 'meds' and narrowly avoided a "breakdown". ;)

As far as the rest of it, you are certainly entitled to your opinion as much as me. I'll be glad to not tell you how much I like it in return for you not telling me how much you hate it.

As far as "public ridicule" by me... that seems a bit of a stretch.

I could care less if someone likes it or not. But to see CR & CRK publicly ridiculed on their own FORUM, by some; is just unacceptable to me.

And to be clear, once again; I am not talking about opinions expressed of whether one likes it or not.
I am referring to the post that went far beyond that.

Now maybe I am right or maybe I am wrong... but either way, that is how it is. :)
