Busse's are kind of expensive though, so I'd think the closest in terms of designs, quality, and toughness might be BarkRiver's A2 knives. They even rust

I already have a BK-7 rather than an RC-6 and a BK-9 rather than a Junglas. I guess I'd have a Becker Necker instead of my Izula if ESEE/RC didn't exist.

My next purchase will probably be a Lite Machete, I think if it didn't exist then I would go with a Condor Machete instead - wouldn't get Micarta handles though


For the good ergos and sheath:

Junglas Vs BK-9 + Micarta Scales + Kydex Sheath
Not much difference on the price, but the Junglas is 10" and comes all good to go with the scales & sheath already. I think that the Junglas would be the better buy, but if it didn't exist the BK-9 with upgrades of sheath & scales would perform the same tasks fairly similarly.

RC-6 Vs BK-7 + Micarta Scales + Kydex Sheath
Again similar price, similar performance - but RC-6 is ready to go and BK-7 needs scales & sheath upgrade to be its equal.

I don't think the warranty would worry me, I'm certain that Ethan and KA-BAR stand behind their products and would look after an unhappy customer. I also can't see my BK-7 or BK-9 failing without deliberate abuse - they aren't going to break when using them in a normal way! But having said that - if I had the money right now I'd probably buy a Lite Machete, Junglas and RC-6, then an Izula folder once they are available.

I was eyeballing with scrapyard knives before my RAT 4. They are good pieces for the $ in my opinion. Beside that, i carry my fallkniven F1. Great piece for buschraft.

If their products were accessible, absolutely. The Yardkeeper, Scrappers and bigger bushbeaters would be ideal.

There is an ESEE Knife Company so IMO this thread is a fat slap in the face to Jeff, Mike and Shon. Being a user and collector of many different knives, I would say that this topic would fit better into the General Knife Discussion board than on the manufacturer's own forum.
I'm disgusted and disappointed to see this posted in here.
