If you became the knife emperor of the universe…

I had to giggle a bit when I first saw this thread. Every time I pull my BK-2 out, at one of the Ranch houses or some random river cabin, I always tell my Buddies, "The Government really needs to issue one of these to every household."...

Taxes well spent. 😄 Just got a BK16 and I love it. The BK2 looks lovely to own too, but I’m not sure I’d use it that often.

Knife Emperor? Universe?

OK . . .Well . . .I don't think I'd be worried about any knife right away. As the all-powerful Poobah I would initiate a Manhattan Project size effort to develop one or a variety of superior knife steels. As the Grand Dragon of everything, I might also insist that each alloy be named Andy, Bob, Chuck Danny and so on, instead of using unpronounceable jumbles of numbers and letters (or I might not).

With that ProJet complete: Then I'd figure out which knife I wanted.

Those new steels would have to be tougher than Chinese Algebra, hold an edge better than an ex-Wife holds onto your 401K, and come in minty fresh flavors!

But if this thread is really about "what is my dream knife?", then it would be a list that includes Moran, Loveless, Warenski and Lyle among the now dead old masters. In terms of "modern" production, I would want every model of (or any one of) the Chris Reeve one piece line. Several CRK folders for different occasions. A Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx or two with variations in blade materials and handle inlays . . .. . . .

Not sure of who is who or what is what in terms of currently active custom knife makers.

As knife "Poo-Bah" though I might commission a refined and/or larger Leatherman Wave style of multi tool with a fancy alloy blade or damascus. A really good horizontal sheath (in exotic leathers) with reliable retention is another personal need.
