If you became the knife emperor of the universe…

… what knife would you give to every knife bro and sis? Basically just one knife model which pretty much the entire knife nut community would appreciate. This knife will magically appear in the collection of every knife aficionado 18 and up. Whether folder or fixed, mass produced or custom, that’s up to you.

Probably an unpopular choice, but mine would be the Mora Eldris. Small enough to pocket, would probably be legal in most places (always double check your knife laws), and the handle is fairly comfy despite the compact profile. I think most of us here would have a use for a dependable small fixed blade.

What are your thoughts? Let’s keep this fun and polite!
For an emperor of the universe you're a cheapskate. 😂😂😂

I would not allow people to advertise folders with weak locks as super heavy duty, tactical mil spec, MA, super ninja tough special duty knives. In fact I would favor establishing a reasonable standard for folder lock strength as well as documenting the lock rating on the package.

I would just make sure that everyone receives a cool new knife every week. Which would challenge those who insist on using and EDC-ing every knife that they own. After a few months those folks would be so exhausted they will finally admit they are enthusiast and collectors, just like the rest of us.😵‍💫

Depeds on the world.
SAK Huntsman, or SAK Evo Grip 14, or 17/18, or SAK Hercules would probably work on most -- presuming the resident sentient beings have hands or other appendages that can hold them.
For locations a Marlin Spike is needed (a water world, for example, where the sentient resident beings are not whale or fish like), a SAK Ranger Grip Boatsman.
The scissors, can opener/screwdriver, cap lifter, punch/awl/reamer on them would probably be useful on most worlds.
The Hercules where pliers would be handy. (the Boatsman has pliers but lacks scissors, so they would need a stand alone scissors, as well.)
