If You Could Carry Anything You Wanted...

What about you guys? Remember, ANY edged tool, NO LIMITS!

Even if I was free to carry anything I wanted, and North Carolina has good gun and knife laws, I'm very happy with what I currently EDC.

I prefer to travel light and have no daily need for a fixed blade. I carry my RTAK into the woods for hiking, but why would I want 17 inches of steel on my belt just wandering around downtown? That thing's pretty heavy.

Maybe I'm just set in my ways, but a fixed blade would just get in the way, and my BM710 and Victorinox Soldier have served me well for three and a half years without leaving me wanting more. Why change now?

I would probably edc a Spyderco Miltary, and then for a second knife I would rotate between these:

Microtech L-UDT
Micro tech Combat Troodon
Microtech Socom Elite Auto
Bark River Bravo 1
Bark River Wharncliffe EDC
Protech Godfather
Dalton 07/2
Dalton Jammer
Buck 110 Auto Conversion
Benchmade model 42

Oh and of course a Sig P238, Walther PPK, Kel-tec P11, or
S&W Model 60.

I am fortunate to live in a Free State where I can carry whatever I want. Which right now is a Spydie Lava and a Micra.

Since I'm not planning on field dressing a mastodon, I just need something small and sharp, and that pretty much does it for me.

The war club that Chingachook used in Michael Mann's "Last of the Mohicans." When I was in high school this guy: http://www.broadbentboomerangs.com/ came to a Science Olympiad competition and demonstrated a similar weapon that he made himself out of fiber glass. He threw it across the gymnasium at what seemed to be about 90mph.

Actually, I'd rather just watch the movie again...

My Scott Cook Owyhee Hunter in S90V and Ironwood. Just a great mid sized knife, all I need most days.

Indiana is pretty much a free state when it comes to knives (albeit with the national standard BS of no auto and no gravity knives). I'm still gonna carry my current EDC because I don't like carrying stuff that I rarely need, especially when they're heavy. When a knife gets bigger than a certain size and certain weight, It becomes a bit uncomfortable to carry. When it becomes uncomfortable to carry, it will eventually be NOT carried.

Nothing prevents me from carrying a 6" Ti-Lite or Vaquero Grande, but I know a knife that big is gonna be left at home after the novelty wears off.

I wouldn't mind having a classic switchblade. As long as it's decent quality and has good steel, I'd be happy. Sadly, California is not very friendly with autos.

Good 'ol Kentucky is very forward thinking in so much as they figure if you go through the CCDW course and obtain the permit to carry a firearm concealed you can be trusted with a nice list of other neat deadly weapons. (a lot of other states don't allow this)Including my fave any knife!
From the Ky. State Police site:
Any weapon from which a shot, readily capable of producing death or serious physical injury, may be discharged.
Any knife other than an ordinary pocket knife or hunting knife.
Billy, nightstick, or club.
Blackjack or slapjack.
Nunchaku karate sticks.
Shiriken or death star.
Artificial knuckles made from plastic, or other similar hard material.

So to celebrate my freedom of carry allowed I often carry my Spyderco auto Citadel 92mm.

Large fixed blade on the belt
Folder
Dagger on a chest rig along with the Glock.

Tai Goo Wild Goo knife i could find:D
or my old Tramontina Bowie:) (this is more realistic as i acually have this!)
or maybe my old Catt 225Q

I'd probably get a decent wakizashi for belt carry. A full sized katana would just be impractical, impossible to get in the car, hard to wear, etc.

I'd have a boot knife for sure, in my boot of course. Probably a Kershaw military boot knife. Something I could use and throw away if need be. Double edged of course.

I'd keep my Kabar TDI and Kershaw folder on me. And once I get my CCW license I'd add a keltec P32 to the mix.
