If You Could Carry Anything You Wanted...

I'd carry a Microtech OTF clipped to pocket,& a Large Bowie on my hip.

I can already pretty much carry whatever I want already, lol. For me, the monetary issue is more of a restriction than what I can legally carry.

People talk about Calif. like it's so draconian, but we can carry a FB of any length unconcealed, & folder of any length (Other than certain city restrictions).

Just for the sake of curiosity, those of you who say you'd walk around with a large fixed blade (or larger) is there a reason why? What daily needs do you have for a 6+ inch fixed blade?

Just because you can? That reasoning doesn't make much sense to me. I could walk around town with my cat on a leash, nothing is legally stopping me, but I don't need to drag her around everywhere.

There's a time and place for a fixed blade, but I've never really seen the need to EDC one. I'm not bashing anyone's choices, I'm just intrigued by some of them.

I can't really see much use with a 6+ inch fixed blade, but I wouldn't mind EDCing a Bark River Mikro Canadian. a simple 1.75 inch blade should handle most of my daily tasks just fine. I'd switch it out with a Pro Scalpel if the need arises.

The war club that Chingachook used in Michael Mann's "Last of the Mohicans." When I was in high school this guy: http://www.broadbentboomerangs.com/ came to a Science Olympiad competition and demonstrated a similar weapon that he made himself out of fiber glass. He threw it across the gymnasium at what seemed to be about 90mph.

Actually, I'd rather just watch the movie again...

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! You should throw in a shield while you're at it. :D

In my case, yeah, I guess just because I can. But I wouldn't carry a sword
everyday, that would be a pain in the but. It'd just be a nice (BIG)
conversation piece, haha.

You're also talking to a guy who sometimes uses a full size katana to
open envelops and peel carrots. :D

P.S. Don't peel veggies with a katana as they stain the blade (and yes
it's not very practical).

I left out the word large when I said I didn't see the need to EDC a fixed blade. I've often thought about getting a BK-11 to carry as an EDC knife, but just for comfort and mobility I wouldn't want anything much bigger.

Last Thanksgiving, my girlfriend was using my only large kitchen knife and I needed to cut the acorn squash into sections so it could go in the oven. The only knife in the house big enough for the squash was my RTAK :D. It worked very well and was probably the safer choice considering how tough an acorn squash is.

I CAN carry anything I want! (provided it is concealed)
I carry a REKAT SIFU, Benchmade Skirmish/Lone Wolf T2 and a slippie (which does all the real work) which varies from day to day.

Daily concealed carry of a large fixed blade in our weather becomes old quickly.....

If I am going out of town any distance my Busse NMFBM goes with me...:o

In MI, anything with a blade over 3 inches can be considered a dangerous weapon (although they would have to prove intent). Rather then go thru any possible hassle with a DA, I stick to 3 inches or less on a blade. It would be nice if I could carry blades longer then 3 inches w/o worrying about possible legal problems.

I'd like to carry a full size BM Grip, Endura, Mili, etc.

Holy grail = custom Yuna

I'd like to carry a 3" bladed automatic, just because they're cool.

There's not a lot else I'd really NEED or WANT to carry, other than I'd like the option of "concealed carrying" a fixed blade in a pocket sheath.

If my budget and local laws suddenly allowed me to get and carry anything... I guess I'd start with a balisong (Ikoma Guardian Angel) and some fixed blade from Chris Reeve (maybe the mountanier).

Jaime Orozco.

I'd like to be strong enough to carry the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.

Here in PA, I can carry anything that isn't an auto. My Buck 110 draws enough funny looks as it is, so I'll probably never carry anything bigger than that...if it weren't for the stares, though, I'd probably carry a big ol' Bowie.

I can pretty much carry whatever I want here in my state (except automatics and gravity knives). So I carry a Busse SJTAC, in a Kydex IWB sheath. I just bought the Swamp Rat M9 LE, and I'm considering another IWB sheath for it, too.
