You don't like boye dents ? They ( theoritically) keep your knife more secure by preventing accidental closure. That being said ; my G-10 harpy has no boye dent and it never closed accidentally. This, only with no Boye dent and an Odin's Eye Damasteel blade...

The Jester, then maybe i could get my hands on one.
Frankly, I think the Boye dent is more of a pacifier than a mouth guard. Not to mention that when has anything called a "dent" ever been considered attractive and desirable. You don't like boye dents ? Ayoob in M4, or the mini Ayoob that JD suggested. Also a Caly 3.5 with bolsters and a super steel. Lastly a D4 or E4 in Superblue or HAP 40 that is not damn clad. Solid steel

Good points, but I also notice the dent being a good way to quickly find the lock bar blindly. I don't have a preference, just noting something I noticed.Frankly, I think the Boye dent is more of a pacifier than a mouth guard. At the very least, the choices of which knives Spyderco has decided to bless (or curse) with them and which get nice smooth lockbars seems more a coin toss than a logical decision based on things like size or potential for SD use.
Case in point, several of Spyderco "hard use" midlocks, the original Manix and 83mm Manix as well as the various Chinooks did not have them. Neither does the current Native 5, although earlier Natives did. At the other end of the spectrum, can anyone tell me they believe the Ladybug, and Manbug would be dangers to their users if the Boye dent was omitted?
