If you could design your own GEC SFO

Welcome to the forum KnivesShipFree! Nice to see you you here :)

Derrek from KSF has been here for quite some time. I didn't realize that this was a different account until you pointed it out.

A #66 "improved" moose so to speak, clip and wharncliffe.

This! I think of it more as a Hawbaker Muskrat. I love the very few clip/wharncliffe Muskrats I've seen but 4" is too long for my needs. I won't be skinning any muskrats. The 66 serpentine frame with their "Purple Sage" bone and this blade combo would be my grail knife, especially with half stops.

Tidioute #68 Buckaroo with pen instead of spey in green (preferably) or black linen micarta.

Pinched bolster 68 slimmed down to a single blade. Probably a spear, and with the top end UNXLD treatment. Blood red jigged bone would be nice.

Northfield Stockman in the 81 style, but at 3 3/4" long, with old Schrade style peach seed jigged bone, bar shield or shieldless, and with steel liners and bolsters. Long pulls on all blades.

A drop-point fixed blade.

#60 with jigged bone.

Bring back the #68, a senator with spear points and cattle horn.

A 38 three blade with a wharncliffe main combined with a coping and a pen. Half stops on all three blades, with an option for the blades to be stainless.

I'd want to see a barehead Dogleg Jack (56 pattern style), stretched to 3 3/4", with a Lanny's Clip main and a heavy duty modified wharncliffe secondary behind the main, like on the Small Texas Jack, the old Ka-bar Jacks and the S&M Heavy Jack. White paper micarta, Chechen Rosewood or some figured walnut would do for covers.

GEC Northfield UN-X-LD 92, similar to this Champlin, in all steel construction, no match striker, and pen blade, in Cocobolo, Desert Ironwood, and Snakewood. :)

No serial numbers. ;)

I would love to see a 3 5/8" or 3 3/4" cokebottle jack with ebony (gabon, not the light ebony that I suspect is macassar that they have been using) handles like this:

There is something about this knife that makes it very pleasing aesthetically. I really like the rounded bolster and contour of the handle. blade proportion to handle is quite nice. Yes, this would be a very cool SFO.

Add my vote for the #85 EO.

It's beyond me how GEC hasn't slated a fresh run of 85s.
Bill doesn't care much for spear blades. When I saw them at rendezvous Will was telling the old man to make some more 85s though. So maybe there's hope.

If got to ask for one special GEC it'd be a 42 slipjoint with springs like a bear trap, stainless liners, 440C, lanyard tube, and bright orange micarta. The shield? Acorn or leave it blank.

GEC #99 Farm & Field "IMPROVED":

- No longer a lock back, a slip joint with half stop
- new scale offerings in cocobolo, ebony, and smooth ivory bone
- spear point blade will feature long pull and swedge
- optional 440C stainless

I'll take one of each.

I'm in for one in snakewood!!

I would produce the Schrade 93OT Wrangler in a slightly heavier frame, with 1095 blades (with a wider Clip thanks to the heavier frame) and use sawcut brown bone handles with a shorter shield. OH
