If you could keep only one "Traditional", what would it be?

Oh Lord I pray I never find myself in this position!
If it were to come then I reckon it would be Grandpa's
1950's John Primble.

Folks, let's please keep this thread on "Traditional Knives" as requested in the original post and in deference to the sub-forum we are posting in. Thank you.

This is an easy one. If I could only keep one knife it would be my KHnutbuster.

This is the only knife that has any real sentimental value for me. I carried it for the first time on my wedding day. This was also my first custom and I treasure the experience of working with Kerry to create this very special knife.

That is one beautiful, pracitacal, sturdy looking knife. The look of a mini sodbuster but better. Very nice.

From my current stash it would be a Schrade 8OT with a Hoffritz etch on the blade. First knife I ever bought new/over-the-counter (in 1986 or 87 can't remember which) and still have it in the original box and sleeve.

Keeping in the spirit of the thread, I would go with my Case Sodbuster CV, with the yeller handles. You can't beat simple, and if I am in a situation where I am only going to have 1 knife forever and ever, I want something that will work. Of course, a SAK farmer makes a compelling argument as well...

Easy there, Marine!

For the purposes of this thread there's carbon fiber and there's carbon fiber...;)

:D

Oh O.K., but that carbon fiber came from the "traditional" carbon fiber factory vice that prissy European race car stuff. :D

I'd have to keep my Case 3254 Trapper in CV. I love the CV steel and the trapper has two very useful blades. I carry it a lot.

Y'all have been added to the tally.

The official "you can only have one" tally thread

Personally, I'd hang on to my 1997 Buck 301 stockman with its blade hardness of 59HRC and flat ground blades. It ain't the fanciest. But it's a stockman, frickin indestructible, holds a decent edge, and is easy to resharpen. I have nicer knives, but if I could only have one, this would be it.

For reasons of practical use, I would carry a Queen 4" stockman in D2
For reasons of favorite, it would be my S&M Cotton Sampler

Actually the "only one" threads can help us compulsive collectors look at what would actually do for us.

I guess if I had to I would only need my old Case 6332 stockman...

And that's it and that's the only thing I need, is this. I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray. And this paddle game, the ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need. And this remote control. The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control and the paddle ball. And this lamp. The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control and the lamp and that's all I need. And that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one - I need this. The paddle game, and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches, for sure. And this. And that's all I need. The ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, this magazine and the chair.
