This is actually a trick question. Like eating only one Lay's potato chip. Everyone here knows you can't own just one ESEE knife.
 
My first was an RC4 but for whatever reason the cutout for the finger groove is too snug on my index finger.

I could get along nicely with only an RC-3. It's one of the best all-around knives I have ever used, works on everything from drywall to paint scraping to cardboard, rope, meat and wire.

For anyone in that thread about Tactical Izulas talking about penetration of meat - the knife goes right thru the top of a naptha can. Meat's not going to slow it down.

It's a great size for unobtrusive carry under any circumstances, out of the way until you need it. Rather handy as an urban problem solver as well as a woods-knife.

My preferred configuration is with a round pommel, no serrations, whatever the grey-ish handle slabs with the green liners are (though tan canvas micarta or G10 would work just as well)

I have never used the nylon backplate and likely never will. Mine is carried IWB with the clip thing around my belt. I may have another sheath made for it, but really have not seen the need yet (though want is a strong motivator)
 
Love them all, HEST probably fits my hand better. RC6 and accesories a bit heavy. RC4 very balanced for me. Izula easy carry. Great products:thumbup::)
 
I love my RC6 for camping or out of town use. for everything else I have to say the RC4 is the best all around RAT/ESEE knife. It's not too small and not so big that it scares people or cumbersome to carry
 
I use my Izula every day and love it to death but I picked my RC-4 because it's fill more roles in more situations.
But in truth I'd happily carry any of my 3 ESEE knives into anything.
 
just got my RC3 today... so i'd go with that...

my RC6 can handle more stuff, but it's a bit bulky... i'd say my RC3 would be a good choice... until i get my RC4 :D :D :D
 
I am not sure, so many knives? Yeah Right the ESEE-6 without a doubt. The thing is you have to hold the 6 and use it a while to really appreciate it.
 
Another 4 guy here. I sprung for two right away, no questions asked. Got a 6 for the bigger jobs if I need it. Considering going small now with a 3. I like the izula, but I want a small blade with a handle package.
 
I just have a HEST but I love it. It's like having a ESEE 6 or ESEE 5 or even a 4 but easier to carry super strong and the added stuff is nice.
 
I own the 3, 4, and Izula. I find myself always reaching for the 3 when I leave the house and think I'm going to need something more than a small folder. I love them all, but the 3 seems to be my favourite (and it was my first RAT knife too, so there's some sentimental attachment - wow that sounded good in my head, but now that I read it I realize I just said I had feelings for a knife.....:eek: )

At the mods - is it possible to change the "RAT Cutlery" to "ESEE" ?
 
you can change the title by clicking "edit" then "go advanced" from there you can edit the title. :thumbup:
