If you could only own one ESEE blade?

I went with a ESEE-4

I voted for my -4 again. I've used it on a number of hunting and camping trips now and it's pretty much the perfect size for everything from boning grouse for dinner to batoning kindling and making fuzz sticks to help get a fire going. Everyone I've shown it to has been very impressed with its functionality.

HEST for me. I don't own a 4, just a HEST, Izula and 5. Tell me more about why the 4 is your favorite. I would assume it's too much overlap between the HEST and 5.... Explain to me why I'm wrong, I need an excuse

I've been playing with my ESEE-4 a bit. I own a HEST, though I do not own a 5 (nor do I plan to ATM.) The 4 IMHO is just an all around great size. Use it for your kitchen work, make fuzz sticks with it, batton it through just about anything (I did today.) The reason I don't care to own a 5 is because it's such a brick of a knife. The 4 seems to me quite indestructible (if you use it right, sure you could jackhammer it into sheet-metal) The 4 is no chopper though. That's the turf of the Junglas/ Light Machete. I think that the 4 is the 'near perfect knife'....

has to be green/orange combo though, only works in that combo...
