If you had 10K bucks to spend on knives.....?

This led me to look on bladehq,,, ok quick game,,, what are your guesses for the most expensive:
A: fixed blade
B: folder
C: overall
At bladehq? No peeking!

I never bought from bladehq, but many times from knifecenter, I don't know which one would offer largest selection online available, but my guess is knifecenter... doesn't really matter, most expensive fixed blade will be 100% custom knifemaker,or bladesmith same as folder, same overall.... my guess would be some of Japanese knifes will definitely be on top,but have also seen few times 5-6000 k prices on knifecenter for specialties handmade....Once there is CNC machinery involved, with semi custom, price goes down....

Custom Balisongs.
Edit: Forget Balisongs. Now its vintage Randall, and Busse knives.

I would drop my shopping list in here but it might require an extra 0

I would start with a red on black handled Kaneie sword for 1500, an Albion Maximilian in blue for 1650, a green Ka-bar for 75, an Arno Bernard for 300, a few Benchmades for 1000, a Lionsteel integral for uh.. 400, a good big Shun chefs knife for 300, a purple Izula kit for 70, a big Mission knife for 430, an Ocean Master for 140, a Citadel camp knife for 460, a John Gray Perversion for 1000, an Omnivore Megalodon for 430, a Vallotton poker for 2000 and another Inkeroinen for the 350 dollaroids left

Funny, sounds like all the money in the world to spend on knives but one could easily blow that budget on 5-10 knives with today's prices.

Well assuming you may want that money back at some point I would only buy knives that are worth the price if you know what I mean.
So...
1.Buster Warenski
2.Jimmy Lile
3.Gil Hibben (custom)
I'm sure the list could be longer but this is where I feel safe.
And when you ready to sale you may get additional 2k - 3 k to your 10k

You have a business mind :), but yes,you are right, there are two kind of knives-the ones that their value is decreasing and the ones that their value is increasing (maybe a third option, their value is steady and are away to resale) Jimmy Lile and Hibben is great choice man!
Sentimental value however is different and there are guys, for whom some knives are priceless

I'd get 2,583 of these beauties from Wally world.

Sweet little $3.87 folders, and I'm told the liner locks in them take more force to break than a Sebenza (admittedly, that's not saying much). ;)

I'd get a Rexford, and with the leftover, I'd get a Spyderco Tenacious and a doughnut.

Evilgreg you would fold under the weight of them folders:) That's a hell lot of folders.

Look, I'm not going to carry all 2,583 of them at the same time. ;)

But let's see what they'd weigh just in case:

2,583 Ozark Trail linerlock flippers (again, a stronger lock than the Sebenza, mind you) X 3.7 ounces each = 597.3 pounds of folding knives.

That's right, you get nearly six hundred pounds of folding knives with my plan . . .

You would be the only person I know, to have 2,583 pcs of folders weighting 597.3 pounds ... So I hope your dream will come true :)

MOTTS, true knife-nuts never waste money on doughnut they spend it all on knives. So what dream knife would you get for the price of that doughnut?

Would you swap it with evilgreg for his 597,3 pounds of folders? You would get 2,583 knives, for only your 4 knives dude! Sounds like a great deal?

:)

(those are some seriously unique knives you are selling! Fantastic four!)-love the Hibben Dagger

I'd get a couple slip joints from the Rhett Stidham collection that Eugene is selling.

Seriously I would look for my grail an Emerson CQC-6 Left Handed, and will the money left over I would buy a Colnago Master Lite Bicycle Frame & Fork, Campagnolo Choris Group, Mavic Open Pro Wheel Set with Campy Hubs, Continental Tire & Tubes, Chinelli Bar & Stem, and last a Set of Campy Peddles that take an old Look Delta Cleat. I would still money left to give my favorite charity that help Veterians with PTSD.

If it were me, I would take another $20k, add it to the $10k, and buy another good Warenski, one of the "right" Warenskis.
