If you had $4-500 to spend

Here's my .02. If you haven't gotten a CRK then get one! I just recently became obsessed with them after picking up a Sebenza. It's absolutely perfect. I now have a variety of handle materials and models. There really is something just special about them that you won't understand until you have one and use it. If you like beefier knives I'd say grab an inkosi or an umnumzaan although you can get a sebenza with an Inlay and it's going to be similar thickness. If you like double finger choils go with the Inkosi or the Spartan. I personally own and love them all. That being said if I could only have one it would probably be the Sebenza insingo micarta, or the Umnumzaan. I also have a Spartan Harsey that i adore but actually prefer the CRKs. Here's a photo for reference.

Beautiful pup 👍👍

My pick is a large Sebenza31 with some kind of wood inlay (overlay). Although the one I’ve been looking at is almost $700. So I’d just put the $500 toward that.
Yeah, and I’ll add if you already are looking toward an inlayed sebenza but are pushed back by the price, don’t get a plain jane to try to satisfy yourself. Save a bit more and get the one you drool after. All in all 700 is expensive, but it would be more expensive if you spend 500 and then realize you want the inlayed one.

I see a lot of CRK fans, can you flip the new sebenza or any of them and still retain the warranty or do they hold up to flipping? I really want to try another one but I'm worried it won't hold up to hard flipping use.

For that price range you have alot of options. I Currently own the big 3 a sebenza 31, SMF and XM24. Hands down sebenza as a one and done edc folding knife. The Strider SMF is beefy and solid but not as refined as the other two. The XM24 is terrible everyone should sell them all dirt cheap so I can buy more

What makes you think it wouldn't hold up? A Chinese made assisted Kershaw holds up just fine to constant flipping.

FWIW I usually flip mine open like all my knives.

Does everyone on here prefer the CRK Sebenza over the CRK Inkosi and Umnumzaan? Is there a reason everyone seems to prefer the original 21 over the newer models?
I may go against the grain but I have had several Sebenzas (BG-42, Small Classic inlay, and a Sebenza 25) and I have one original pivot Umnumzaan. I still have the Sebenza 25 which I'm not in a hurry to get rid of but would. The one knife in my current collection I wouldn't get rid of out of all of my users (Spyderco, Hinderer, MT, Benchmade, Emerson, Protech) is the Umnumzaan. I think it is about the perfect folding knife for me.
With that said I have a Spartan Harsey MEFP on the way and we will see how that fairs against the Sebenza and Umnum.

Well, looks like I have an Umnumzaan on the way, worked out a trade for a newer one that’s lightly used with standard blade and in S45VN. I may still buy a Sebenza or Inkosi, but at least I will finally get my feet wet in the CRK pond. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate it.
