If you had $450 (make that $600), what would you get?

Nudge up to $500 and a Strider .75 AR on the secondary market becomes an option. Knowing how similar our tastes in knives tend to be, I think you'd love this one.

I know it's a vanilla choice, but I like vanilla and it's a superb cutting tool: a large Sebenza 31.

I just drooled all over my phone. Awesome pics and great idea!

Most Ti framelocks tend to be flippers, I find, but here’s what I’ve got;
Reate Iron with thumbstuds. ‘Bout $325 if you can find one.
Dang… no flipper kinda buries my suggestion suggester.
Obviously, you could probably find a nice CRK either here or eBay for that amount.
. . .

For $450, you could make yourself a really souped up BM Bugout, which I have considered. Buy the version in the steel you choose, get special ano’d scales from eBay (there’s some really neat options). Get new hardware and new thumbstuds, and maybe do a little work on the action, and you have yourself a kinda sweet knife.

As previously mentioned, the Spartan SHF will not disappoint 👍.

EDIT: As of right now (1205 EST, 04FEB2022) there’s one out there with a 4” blade for $460. Found on Google.

For $450 I’d sell you my customized Reate Iron Timascus. 😉

It does have a flipper, but what does that matter when it has a Spydie hole on it??

If i had that opportunity, I'd flip a coin between a large CRK insigo shape blade and a Hinderer of some kind. I have neither. Want both.

You're killing me.
Haha. A plain Large Sebenza 31 or Large Inkosi would be my top choices right now. Assuming I can find one and that they’re within my budget. And I need to look at the SHF too. And if I found a Hinderer Firetac non-flipper then I’d be tempted by that too. I find research in searching out a certain knife to be half the fun for me. So I have to give myself a deadline otherwise I’ll go hunting around online for weeks. So I’ll give myself until the middle of next week and then I’m pulling the trigger. Wednesday morning at the latest.

That's the dream! Curious what you choose.

I’d get an umnumzaan no question. Like you, I had one a while back that I let go and is one of the very few I regret getting rid of. Only knife I’m currently interested in obtaining.

Before yesterday the zaan and a CPK DEK1 were at the top of my list. But after I snagged a DEK1 on their site yesterday, the zaan remains. So if fixed blades are your thing, I’d grab a CPK and then you have $150 left over.
