If you had to go to war, what is the one fixed blade and 1 folder you would take??

I understand that, i didnt mean it in so much in the capacity as a weapon, more of a hard use tool you can depend on. In no place did i say weapon or tactical knife.

The why say "go to war"? War means "weapon." War means "tactical."

depends how you look at it. I dont interpret war to mean only weapons. You take more then a gun, a knife is an important tool here why cant it be helpful someone else overseas

I'll take my BK7 and my 0561.

And I'll be bucked nekkid.

Might have some socks and boots though, depends on where the war is at.

:D

Not really. War means war. So...what would be the fixed blade I'd take with me to war? Any one with a large gun full of bullets attached to it.

I find a Vic Classic to be a excellent tool for me "here" everyday. I'm not currently in a war. So, I guess the folder part of your question would be a Vic Classic.

its a hypothetical question, if you struggle with the concept or disagree with the question don't answer it or don't even click the thread.

No need to be so ignorant about it

i did go to war. 3 tours. Carried a Strider VB, a Spydie Endura, and a Gerber mil issue EZ-out.

Fixed blade... Ka-Bar USMC. Seems like this was designed for this very purpose.
Folder... ZT0301. It's built like a tank, and it seems like it'd hold up to any abuse one might throw at it should the need arise.

Really, I'd probably lean more towards a multi-tool (Leatherman Charge TTi) for the folder, since any heavy knife use is covered by the fixed blade. The multi-tool provides a variety of implements that can help you improvise a variety of different solutions to whatever the situation might throw at you.

And A.G. Russell sandbox bowie.

Both purpose built.

Same as I carried when I was in:

USMC K-Bar for a FB...

And for a folder, didn't carry one when I was in, but today it would be a Spyderco Military.

I'd probably carry a strap cutter/rescue hook and a cold steel folder. A good rifle/shotgun or two would be a good idea too :)

For me I'd be happy with a solid multi-tool, but to honor the request of the OP's question, I'd take my BRK Bravo-1 as a fixed blade and my Benchmade 551 Griptilian as a folder.

Trusty kukri and swiss army knife. (Would probably bring lansky system if I could)

These have served me very well!

Hear hear. Its his question, no need to play "I'm a smartypants".

Personally, I'd take the large Buck Nighthawk for my fixed blade, and my Endura for the folder. Of course, I don't have a smatchet.
