Man have we finished up with some mindless waffle on this thread !!!!

I think the blade in the pic looks great and would never call it ugly, all I would like is some prices !!!!

man. so much talk about "having to finish" the knives. essentially "well if I'm going to have to finish it myself then geeez."

I'm pretty sure I'd buy a steel grill brush for these to get the rust off, and thats about the limit of what I'd do to them.

These are beaters of the first degree. . . You'll never have to worry about marring up the finish. . . because we've already done that for you!

THATs why I would purchase that finish option. so I wouldn't have to constantly be redoing a satin finish every time I used it. and I hate reprofiling blades from 30 degrees down to 21 degree's. I hate reprofiling 50 degree's per side tips down to 21 degrees per side even more.

I have no opinion on this whole kit builders business, other then to say that I'm weary of it because everything included would have to be unwarrantee'd except for the blade itself. there would have to be a disclaimer of "can't put it together yourself once you bought it? too bad. shoulda bought a completed blade.", as well as the additional work required for both posting sales and assembling and shipping the packages.

I'd like to see this finish because busse would get to get the blade, hit it with a wheel and send it out, potentially speeding up other orders, as well as giving a raw beater to those who wanted it for nothing else.

I think this is all pretty amusing. I strip any coated blade I get. After stripping and using my SFNO to cut a path on my property last week, I decided to see how a mustard patina would look on the blade. It actually cleaned it up too much for me! LOL.
I like the look of INFI raw. Basically, give me a nice smooth spine, good edge and slabs I can at least shape how I want, and I'll be happy.

Bring them in at well under CG price, actually improve on the bl**dy appalling factory 'edge' (edge what edge!? a knife is supposed to be sharp and cut things not beat them to death), then the comp grade would be unbeatable!
