If you were deploying in a... let's say a recon unit what folding knife and fixed blade would you bring with you? Just curious to what people would bring in these hypothetical situation. EDIT: this does not include multi-tools.

S110V Military in just about any environment and I have a fondness for the Cold Steel SRK, probably in 3v.

I'm not now nor have I ever been deployed in a Recon Unit however. I just can't imagine anything other that very specialised tasks where those two wouldn't perform well.

Interesting, SRK is a classic.

Hmmm, cold steel hold out II. What were your selections btw?

Honestly... I'm torn lol. There are so many good knives out there that it can be hard to choose haha. Most likely, my folder would be Zero Tolerance 0560BW and fixed blade Cold Steel SRK in 3v. But, idk heard such great things about other knives like the Chris Reeve Green Beret, Chris Reeve Pacific. Also, heard great things about the Rick Hinderer xm-18 and Emerson Sheepdog but I have no personal experience with them however. There are so many knives that could preform amazing in these roles it can be hard to choose, which makes it interesting to see others selections.

Byrd Cara Cara 2 and Schrade SCHF42D or a similar inexpensive fixed blade. Easy for things to get lost or sprout legs and wander off in those kinds of situations. I wouldn't take anything that would bother me to replace.
